So i ordered a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress from a store that seemed to require you to be a bitch and stupid in order to work there. It was the only store that sold the dress and its what the bride wanted so I put my deposit down and i haven’t gotten it yet but its only been a couple months so i’m just waiting. I typed in the bridal shop in that City Search for reviews of it and there was a negative review (shocker) that said that you have to pay the remaining balance BEFORE they let you try on the dress. And all sales are final so if somethings wrong you are screwed. Now here is a question, if i paid for the dress and all sales are final, why the hell would i want to try it on at your store??? I’m not giving you more money for alterations because you probably f’ed it up to get more money out of me. I think its a terrible business practice.
It doesn’t say that on the reciept that i have to pay all before i try it on.

I’m surprised you only had to pay a deposit. My BMs had to pay in full for their dresses to be ordered. Of course, they were only $117, but still…
Try on your dress to make sure they ordered you the right size, then get the f out!

All they require is deposit to order (thank God, i couldn’t have afforded 250 all at once!). I already know its too big, but i planned on taking it to a seamstress somewhere else anyway. This is so stressful and i’m not even the bride! lol Its such an expense and they should not be trying to screw the customers like that. Anyway, i’m hoping that the review was a one time thing and that doesn’t happen to me!

@techie: its a store upstate around the Albany area, not NYC. But you may want to ask what thier policy is before you decide on anything! lol
