I’m going to agree that the makeup was pretty bad but the hair actually wasn’t so bad in my opinion.  The hair could have been more… styled?  IDK the word for it… less flyaways and more polished looking.  But then the inspiration pictures had flyaways so maybe not?

If it isn’t what you like then I’d get someone else to do it, not her.  I’ve always had terrible luck when I’ve tried to get someone to do things “this way” when they’ve already done it their way (the wrong way).  I’m doing my own makeup and my mom is helping me with my hair.

I agree with others that I actually like the hair.  I don’t know what the heck is going on with the makeup.  The foundation is just wrong, and the eye makeup does not flatter your naturally pretty face.  I would not let that person do your actual wedding makeup.  Perhaps request another trial with someone else, or switch vendors.  I would rather lose a deposit than feel unhappy with my wedding look.  Maybe if you show those photos to the head makeup artist, they will offer you a better arrangement.

Your own makeup looks flawless, the job she did was horrible! i actually agree with you about the hair too. Its not awful and definitely workable, but it reminds me of hair that would be in a country music video in the early 2000s. That probably makes no sense, but that’s what it reminded me of lol. It kind of looks like she just piled random pieces of hair at the back of your head.

Im doing my own makeup for the wedding. I’ve just been watching a ton of YouTube videos on it And im buying professional products. I’m also getting eyelash extensions so I don’t have to worry about falsies or lack of mascara. Maybe that’s something you could look into if the next trial doesn’t work out.

Probably not the most helpful comment, but:

If I could do my own makeup as well as you do yours, I wouldn’t even get a MUA! So pretty.

Oh dear, bee, I’m sorry. The makeup is downright awful, it looks like makeup from the night before after you slept on it.

I’m a hairstylist, and I’m not a fan of the hair either. She sort of did what you were asking but it’s simply not finished enough. She definitely did not place the extensions right as you can see what hair is your own and whats not. And the waves are not done right either. It just looks unfinished to me, like what it might look like at the end of the night after dancing.

I hope the owner is able to do it herself for you!

Is that regular makeup or airbrush?

Thank goodness you did a trial run! I actually had the same thing happen with a terrible makeup trial and so/so hair trial at one salon, but luckily I had enough time to book a completely different place.  At my trial, the girl doing my makeup advertised airbrush makeup, but was reading the directions on how to work it the entire time.  Fingers crossed that the owner can do yours for you!

Hair – is not a bad option, but makeup, yes, it’s terrible, I’m sorry!)) But your inspiration picture is really wonderful!! I think you should simply find a new stylist!))

I wouldn’t really recommend trying AGAIN with the same MUA. Pls find another. You look so much better when made up on your own. Her work is flat and not bridal at all.

The hair was not bad at all but you do need better makeup……..so will you be looking for a new MUA or will you be letting her try again?

I actually like the way she did your hair.

Your makeup trial, however, didn’t go so well. It’s like she made you look as though you have undereye shadows when you normally don’t. WTF? Why would she do that?

kristynamoore:  I’ve never understood the combo makeup and hair person. They either do one or the other well or neither. Very rarely do they do both well. Can you have your regular stylist do your hair?
