I am sorry that you were unhappy. I don’t know much about moissy’s other than what I saw in a jewelry shop and I did not like the colors, they ones I saw looked a little yellow, or just off… Anyway, like I said that is my only exposure.

Too bad the guy was rude to you, not good for business!

I got my loose Amora moissanite from betterthandiamond.com. I didn’t have any problems, and it came a day ahead of schedule. I can’t speak to their customer service when it comes to resolving problems, but, as far as general service, I would recommend them. Also, my stone is a loose 3ct equivalent (9mm), and I haven’t noticed any green at all. I’ve been looking for it, and still haven’t seen any. This might be an option for you to look into.

I have to agree with Chris that’s unlikely you received a dud.  What is likely is that you are more sensitive to color than some people.  There’s nothing wrong with that at all.  You may prefer the color of your CZ over the Amora, because CZs are whiter.  If the store offered to take it back, then maybe you could exchange it for an Asha.   Ashas are CZ with a coating.  Moissaniteco also owns ashadiamonds.com.

I am not as color sensitive.  I have G-H colored diamond earrings and to my eyes, my Amora is the same color.

@obsessivebee: Moissaniteco gets their Amora from betterthandiamond.com.

I am sorry that happened.  ๐Ÿ™‚ I have had a few dealings with them, but am much happier going through Schubach’s now.   Amora is graded H, not G, but I do find that part of their  site misleading.

Some people love moissy, and can appreciate it’s moodiness, but others prefer how cz or Asha looks.  As for duds though, I don’t really agree with that.  I have seen a lot of it now, and it is not all created equal.  If you ever feel like trying it again, may order directly from BTD.  ๐Ÿ˜‰  BTD has excellent customer service.

I got a 1.1ct cushion amora from them last week.  I just returned it.  I also don’t think that Chris was misleading you…but the reality is that some people are much more sensitive to color than others…My moissy was gorgeous in certain lights…but the yellow tones I saw were something I just didn’t want. Of course I was heartbroken and disappointed…but after a few days, I realized that other Bees mentioned the “buttery” tones a moissy can take…and that the color (J) was exactly the same as any J diamond.  It’s difficult to have high hopes and feel left down.  Consider it carefully and then return the stone if you decide it’s the right thing for you to do.  I did end up with a 1.5 asha…and she is very pretty (and even more affordable!).

@jcent:  Well, the website says GIA color is H, but it does say faceup is F/G.  I would say mine looks like a G-H color, but definitely not an F.  I know I saw that BTD just has H listed as color for RBs.  So I’m not sure why moissaniteco has the faceup color listed.

@mcklough:  I am not THAT sensitive to color and I can DEFINITELY seen a greenish-yellow color in your stone. I wouldn’t be happy either, honestly.

@mcklough:  See to me, that first pic looks warm, but not green.  For me, the color is silverish white.  I’m not saying it’s not green for you, rather that it just looks different to my eyes.  It is beautiful, but if you’re not happy with the color I’d send it back.

@MrsBlueSeptember:   I am not sure either.  When you buy a diamond, the colour grade is listed, not the “face up” colour, so listing that is confusing I think.  H is a good colour grade, but trying to make it seem whiter than it is is misleading.  Especially since it says F/G, and F is colourless.  And the “face up” colour they are listing is in optimal lighting…so then when you get into a car, or have an overcast day, for example, you will see so much more colour.  My F coloured diamond shows warmth in the wrong lighting, so an H coloured moissy (being moody anyway) could really look a lot different that the F colour face up that poeple might be expecting.  I am super colour sensitive though, so the difference between G and H is quite apparent to my eyes.

I think it is pretty, but you need to love it.  You don’t, so send it back and just wait for the Amora Gem and buy it from BTD.  ๐Ÿ˜‰  Graded G though is amazing!  That is whiter than the average Amora.
