I think the bus is cool! But that still only takes you to 12:30. You could always go back to the hotel bar after if you want!

I have to state a disclaimer that I am not someone who likes to drink, and my biggest concern would be safety.  However, from an aesthetic point of view and from a consistency-with-your-elegant-wedding perspective, I think the hotel lounge area is the best choice.  I’m guessing you’ve noticed that it is decorated in your wedding colors, too.

The bus sounds like great fun, but please remember that another two hours of drinking means you shouldn’t be dropping anyone at their cars unless they have a designated driver.

I am sure there will be family and friends who would choose not to come on the bus and would be happy to do the cleanup. All you have to do is ask.

@julies1949:  umm yea. That sent alarms off in my head that the plan with the bus was to drop everyone off at their cars….

Just a side note about the taxi idea…We hired taxis for our guests at the end of the night. It was a Saturday in Laguna Beach so it took over an hour for the taxis to arrive. I was royally pissed. We called them half an hour before our reception ended and people waited an hour or more after our reception was over.

@KimmySumShuga:  No one expects the bride and groom to decorate or undecorate.

You said it’s expensive so that may be a total deal breaker, but is it possible for the yacht to dock for the extra hour of the reception?  So folks who needed to leave could leave and others could stay with no huge transition.

Then head over to the hotel bar to wrap up the night comfy style?

The bus does sound fun but to me it also sounds like two separate events.  Like a bachelorette party.  I don’t know if I could handle both a yacht and a party bus in one night.  But then again that’s just tired, old, crank, 27 year old me :/  It does sound uber fun though!!!!

No matter what it’s a party.  So if one person, 10, or no one but you and your hubby stay it will be fun.  We have fun drinking ourselves silly at bars and dancing the night away even when we’re alone.

If I were at your wedding, I think a hotel bar would be PERFECT for how I’d be feeling after a yacht party!! It’s not as wild but it’s fun and relaxed and you know you can just crash out in the hotel (they’ll know in advance I figure and be able to book rooms) so you don’t have to watch yourself or leave early.
