I already acknowledged that I was being defensive about it because it is a topic that is sensitive to me, and that it makes sense in the context of the OPs situation, but that I read it as a blanket statement. I dont know why this has turned into such a big deal.

I sorta know what you mean. My relationship with my dad is good but he is just so protective and the thought of me doing the “deed” just is so uncomfortable. But I mean the reality is is that it happens.
I told my dad over the phone (live in diff states) when he was just finished golfing. He was really excited and I was very happy with his response. I think he was excited to tell his friends too about his soon to be grandbaby. Im sure it will be fine. Your excitement will show through and he hopefully will be happy for you.

omgosh! I never thought of this….this is going to be me soon!!!
My dad just thinks i’m a little girl and on top of that I’m pretty sure he think me and DH sleep in different beds and that i’m still a virgin….
On top of hat: he doesn’t like the idea of being a stay at home mom because he thinks “im better than that” but that’s what my plan is until baby goes to preschool…So yeah i’m reading all the advice PP gave you because I think i’m in the same boat!!
Like someone said: we need to grow a pair!
*for reference: I’m 23 been married 1.3 years now and graduate college very soon.
