@FutureMrsMarlow:  I was scared at 1st to. It’s alright though, you don’t have to worry (assuming the size is right it should be a little tight)

the only time i don’t wear my ring is swimming (mainly b.c. i scraded ifi swimming hard it might slide off so i started swimming with a fist witch felt wear)

i have been engaged since may and it hasnt come off though if you are really worried get a pretty tray in the bath room for it to sit in when you have showers i have one for when i wash my face put on cream or use hair products as i don’t like to get gunk on it

i am really more worried if i end up in a bad part of town lol then lsoing it

the 1st few days i banged it on door frames as a turned the door knob I did not hurt it but be aware of that lol

also i cut some of my firens and family passing them handing them things b.c. i was not used to wearing anything so big and sharp so be carful of that too

@FutureMrsMarlow:  I wear mine to bed but not to shower.  It’s showing wear on the outer bottom (palm side of the ring) but not on the top.  I can always have it re-dipped later if it gets too scratched up.

@FutureMrsMarlow:  I occasionally sleep with my ring on but never shower with it. When I was first engaged, I wore it to bed but then it scratched me lol I’ve noticed that I take it off once I get home now

I take my ring off to sleep and shower. I used to put mine in the box if I took it off so I knew exactly where it was…now I just leave them on the side!

I’ve only been engaged for a few weeks but I always wear it to sleep. I do take it off to shower and do dishes though, it’s probably about a half size too big and I don’t want it slipping off. Other than that though, I wear it all the time.

I very rarely take my rings off unless i’m putting on body lotion or baking/doing something messy in the kitchen.  I generally clean with gloves on anyway as i get a skin condition on one of my hands and i never take them off to shower.

i’ve had my e-ring for 4 years now and been married since july and mine are fine! My e-ring has been re-dipped once, about 9 mths ago, and it has yellowed again on the shank, the top is fine though so i’m not worried about getting it done again soon since you can’t see it when worn, plus i kind of like the creamy colour!

My e-ring was cleaned before it was re-dipped and i noticed a huge difference in sparkles so i clean all of my rings every few weeks in hot water and washing up liquid and give them a gentle scrub with a kids toothbrush.

@FutureMrsMarlow:  I barely wore my engagement ring for the first 1.5 years!!! I was terrified of damaging it at work (I work outdoors and I’d never find it again if I lost it out there), and so I only ever wore it on ‘special occasions’ or when we went out.

When I hit one year to go I made the choice to start wearing it for work and just take the risk! I dont wear it at home, but I wear it all the rest of the time when I leave the house. I tried wearing it in bed but my finger swelled up in the middle of the night when I got hot and nearly cut my circulation off! And I always take it off to shower/wash hands because it’ll irritate my skin if water gets underneath.

Just do whatever you feel comfortable with! You dont HAVE to wear it 24/7 – it doesn’t mean you love your OH any less!

I’m getting married in two months; I’m going to try and wear my rings more, but I probably wont if I’m just pottering round the house!

I take my ring off anytime I do something that wets my hands – shower, brush teeth, wash hands, etc. – or when I workout. I sleep with it on, though.

I don’t take mine off, unless it’s for a 3 minute stint in my ultrasonic when I remember. Apart from that, I’m wearing it 24/7. It’s a high-set cathedral setting and in all the years I’ve been wearing it (almost 7) I have one very slightly bent prong which nobody else can notice but me. Stone is still very secure.

I wear mine all the time apart from if I am donig something really messy in the kitchen (like baking or making meatballs or something) and I also take it off when I shower now as I find the oils in shampoos and stuff really gunks it up and wears on the plating (white gold). But sleeping, working out etc – they stay on.

However I never take it off to wash my hand in public, showering at the gym etc. I would be far to scared to loose them that way.

You’ll get a few scratches on it but it doesn’t really bother me, I’ve had my e-ring re-dipped once a year when I find it gets a bit to dull looking. I am addicted to handcream though so I probably wear down the plating faster than most people.

I’ve had my e-ring for over 2 years now and when I had it dipped and polished last (before my wedding) it looked as new as the day I got it. I think that unless you have a very delicate setting, or you bang it really hard, rings are a lot more durable than we think.

I never take mine off, bad knuckles. I have a simple solitaire though, not pave. I think you just insure it and wear it happily. There are bigger things to fret about and you need to have enjoyment not stress over your ring. Enjoy it!

I also wear mine all the time unless I am doing something messy or potentially damaging to the ring (like painting or some kind of workout that could damage it). My ring is a white gold solitaire, I have been wearing it for a about a year and it looks great!

@FutureMrsMarlow:  I take it off quite a bit. I don’t shower, sleep, work out, garden, etc., with it on. So far, so good.

I wear mine pretty much all the time.  It doesn’t do any good sitting in a jewelry box!  Also, I feel like there is less risk to lose it the more it stays on my finger.

If you have quality materials and the setting is not super delicate, your ring can easily stand normal everyday wear.
