- Wedding: May 2013
First of all, I just wanted to thank all of you for helping me out this weekend!!! I think I realized this week that I’m actually getting married and I kinda panicked. I had three WHOLE days in a row with a different “panic” each day. I’m really hoping I’m done being emotional for now!! I just cant believe I let simple things seem like they were the end of the world. Descriptions of the three days below..
Day 1- I picked up my dress and thought it looked terrible on me. I picked out every possible thing wrong I could. Turns out it looks just fine!! I think I also have the mental image of when I was 30lbs heavier.
Day 2- I started freaking out since were going to have plastic plates, cups and silverware at the wedding. We have the photographer of our dreams and I couldnt imagine him taking pictures of plastic. Turns out, all I had to do was mention this issue to my fiancé. He mentioned it to his mother and now we are having real (nothing fancy, but still real) plates, cups and silverware.
Day 3-I bought my dress with the idea that I would get a lovely floral sash for it. My dream sash is on Etsy and I had no clue how it would look in person. (Committing to something I havent seen in person just terrifies me.) I also hate the idea of a white sash on my dress and I also hate the idea of a really colorful one like champagne or pink or blue. SO I took my dress to mens wearhouse (no bridal store within 30 minutes), walked in there (only woman in the place) and held up an ivory tie to it. The ivory tie really warms up the dress, I was always just a tad upset that my dress only came in off white. The sash will be ivory and it will provide perfect subtlety in the color differences. And after talking with the seller, I am much more confident that it will not overwhelm or compete with my ruffley skirt. (She sent me pics of the sash on a bride with a very similar dress to mine.) So although I am going against the advice of other bees, its what Ive always envisioned. I’m just going to hope it looks that way in person!!!
Ok, now for the pictures!!! Whew!
The sash I chose from TheRedMagnolia!! It is mainly ivory but has some light ivory and off white details to tie it all together!!!
