Is it appropriate to buy thank you/ hostess gifts for the people who host our engagement parties/ bridal showers? They’re all wedding party members, so I wasn’t sure if the gift I give them at the rehearsal covers the “thank you” for parties as well.
Did you give gifts for your parties? What did you bring?

Yes, it absolutely is! My sister, who got married last year, gave the family friends who hosted her engagement party a gorgeous vase (which she found 40% off at Home Goods, such a plus!), and I’m planning on giving the hosts of our engagement party (in two weeks – yay!!) an engraved silver picture frame (I lost my mind and all sense of budget and went to tiffanys, which i do recommend for their fab customer service, but only because our hosts are going WAAAAAAY out of their way – but otherwise, I’d probably have gone to Things Remembered, they have really pretty stuff) and will put in a pic of the four of us from the party before I give it to them. but if you’re watching your budget, a nice thank you note and maybe some yummy treats (cookies? nice chocolates?) is a good way to go. Have fun, and congratulations!!!!

I’m giving my shower host an extra gift because it’s just my Maid/Matron of Honor doing the bulk of the planning. I’m not sure that I would do anything different than just Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts if they all planned it.

I gave gifts to the girls who hosted my shower. I gave them a some shower gel and bath salts and lotion and some nice nail polish to match their personalities. I put a little tag on them that said “I hope your next shower is as nice as this one!”. I thought it was cute.

@MrsMcGyro: I love that idea! I’m totally going to use it for my shower next month!
