@Mrs Christopher:  I used whatever stamps were lying around for thank yous. If I were you I would use up what you’ve already bought, what a waste otherwise!

As for the cards, you should mention them if you really liked them! You can say something like, “thank you for the thoughtful card and generous gift.”

@Mrs Christopher:  I love pretty detailed things, like stamps.  I ordered specialty ones from the USPS for the invitations and RSVP envelopes.  They were the flowery ones that say “Yes I Do” in them.  I think they looked great and completed the set. However, I NEVER notice the stamps on anything I get in the mail.  This totally contradicts myself. LOL So on the other hand, I doubt anyone will notice the little detail of stamps, and even if they do, they aren’t going to tell you.  In the end, I personally would get the pretty ones because I like them.  You will eventually use the extra left over stamps you have for other mail.

Also I mis-voted. I answered what I used, instead of what I think you should use. You should use the leftovers.

@Mrs Christopher:  I know of NOT ONE PERSON who paid attention to the stamp on ANY envelope. In fact, I actually did a poll to the people who received my 300 wedding invites. No one could tell me what stamp was on the envelope. No one.

I’m gonna be blunt and say no one could possibly care less what postage you use.  Put christmas on there for all it matters which is not at all.

By the time I did my TYs (post-wedding), I was pretty burnt out so I used whatever stamps were on hand. I had some leftover from the invitations so I used those. Then I used regular flag stamps.

I’m an attention to detail type of person, so I bought extra red forever heart stamps for the thank yous, same I used ror the rsvps and thank yous to early gifts and shower. For me, the regular stamps I have left I’d end up using on regular mail so they’ll get used up anyways
