I had two bridal showers, both roughly 4 – 6 weeks ago. I was a good girl – bought my Thank You cards, and sat down to do them ALL after the second shower. They were all completed within a couple of days, put in an envelope, and I put them in a box of my “things to finish up”, because I had to go get the rest of the stamps.
Long story short, the box got moved, I forgot about them, and just found them. I’ve always been told these need to go out within 2 weeks of a shower… am I too late? Do I spread word about my “wedding brain” (I really believe that IS a thing, btw) via word of mouth? Plus, our wedding is in 2 weeks – should I just hold them and mail them all out after the wedding?

lala3005: Mail them ASAP. Better late than never. I don’t think they’re horribly late at this point.

Send them! Better to receive a thank you a few weeks late than not at all!

Send them now. They could have been sent more promptly but now is better than later.

Send them. The thought definitely popped into my head last night that I went to a bridal shower a month ago now and haven’t received a thank you note.

I’ll send them out tomorrow and maybe just casually mention it to my Mother-In-Law as a funny story (she’ll think it’s funny anyway)….that way if someone says anything she’ll just go “oh, funny thing ……”
Hopefully people understand things are a bit crazy at the moment. I’ve got so much going through my head that I’ve forgotten and misplaced the most random things lately.
ETA: As an example…this morning, one of my bras was in the freezer. I just ….. how?

I’m a horrible person. My shower was in April and I still haven’t sent out thank you notes. I’m working on them, I swear! My point is, you could be a lot worse, just send them now.

Yiu’re fine! Send them now and don’t worry about it. Though that story, plus the bra story is a grwar tale of bride brain!

lala3005: They aren’t horribly late yet but people might be wondering. But I wouldn’t say anything about your “bridal brain”. I mean, you can tell the story to your Mother-In-Law or whatever but no one wants a “whoops, forgot about you!” excuse with their late thank you note.

playdohpants: Yupp! And it didn’t mention our gift so I bet they forgot what it was. So OP it could be worse haha!
