So I’m going ahead and writing thank you notes for the gifts that are arriving early. Many are from friends and family who will not be able to attend the wedding, but we’re also getting gifts from people who will definitely be there.
Do they get two thank you cards? One for the gift, and another for attending the wedding? I had planned to do cute DIY cards after the honeymoon but I’m not sure if it would be overkill. Thanks!

I wondered this same thing. I figured, in the end, I would send out thank yous for gifts before the wedding, then send out our “cute” wedding themed thank yous to everyone who comes to the wedding as well.

We sent cards for all gifts received before the wedding (up to a week before, after that they went out with the post-wedding batch of thank yous). For those that sent gifts, got a thank you, and then came to the wedding – we wrote thank yous if we got a card or something from them at the wedding. We didn’t get a list of people that came (they didn’t all sign the guest book), so that’s the way we decided to sort it out.

@Mrs. Bear Cheese Pie: Yep, sounds like my plan thus far 🙂
@indibee: Awesome, thanks!
