My wedding is a month and a half away. Invitations went out and now we are starting to get gifts- yay. I am the type of person who is very much on top of things. I had my thank-you notes out that day after my shower. Is it alright to write a thank-you note for a wedding gift that I get before the wedding? Or should I wait until after the wedding- I just feel that isn’t my style.

@amandasf: I guess you could…but isn’t part of the thank you note to thank them for attending too? You could have them all written out beforehand and then mail them out right after the wedding…
Or maybe send the thank yous to the ones that you know will not be attending…

I would highly recommend sending them out now. It will make your life easier later and let people know that their gifts were received and appreciated. Trust me, you will have a million to do after the wedding – do as many as you can now!
In my pre-wedding thank yous, I wrote about how much we looked forward to using their gifts and said, “We are so happy that you can join us for our wedding. We can’t wait to see you!”

Send them out now, with a line “we are looking forward to sharing the special day with you.”
You will be SO happy to have the early thanks you out of the way! Plus, people like knowing for sure that you received the gift.

I would absolutely send thank you notes right away for any gifts you receive before the wedding. The person who gave you the gift will appreciate knowing that you received it and it didn’t get lost in the wedding shuffle, plus it will make life easier for you after the wedding!
