I just received a gift in the mail too, and had no idea what to do about the note. We did open it to find out who it was from (and we were just too excited to wait…) and I’ll send a thank you note this week. FI’s mom wanted us to wait too, but I was hoping she’d realize that the couple bringing gifts to their own shower to open and then take right back home was a bit silly.

And because I still can’t get over the ridiculous text convo I had with FI’s mom, I think I need to share it.
Mom: You’re waiting until the shower to open it, right? No peeking.
Me: No, I was just going to wait until [FI] comes home.
Mom: No. You have to wait. No peeking.
Me: Says who?!
Mom: We all have to see it together.

Two hours later:
Mom: So did you open it? What was it?
(It was an ironing board. Perfect for my Iron Man-obsessed fiance! Hah!)
