We were married on April 21 and I am just now starting to prepare my thank you notes. I have been so busy with school, work, kids. I hope that my friends and family dont think I am rude because they have not recieved one yet.
How long did it take you married bee’s to send your thank you notes?

I’m not married yet, but for my shower gifts I had the thank you’s out within 2 weeks after.

a shower and wedding are very different!
I was married on May 4th and I’m waiting for my pro pics to make my thank yous. I doubt your guests think you are rude.
You still have some time!

That makes me feel better because I was also waiting for the pro pics which I just got. 🙂

Oh, it took me a couple months. Sigh.
As always, better to send one late than none at all!

About 2 months later but that was only because we sent photo cards so we had to wait for our pro pics to come back, then order the TY’s, wait for them to come in and then write ’em all out. It was a process but well worth it.
Do you already have your pro pics back? If so, have you considered including a picture with your TY’s? If you go that route, your guests will understand why the TY’s were a bit delayed since you have to wait to get the pics back and printed.
ETA: Saw your update. So you will be including a pic in the card?

Yes, we had post cards made with our wedding picture on it.

Do you think you can get them out within 3 months of the wedding? Since you’re doing wedding pic postcards, people should understand that it takes a little longer.

I am hoping to have them out by the end of next week but not later then the middle of June.

I heard somewhere etiquette dictates you have up to a year to get them out. Now THAT seems awfully long…
It took us a little over 2 months, but we had a big move right after the wedding, and between getting settled and all that, it took me a little while to get my act together! But better late than never!

I have heard you have a year, but I think at the most we should try to get them out within 6 months. I’m going to try to shoot for 3 months, but I have a whole year to get ready.

We got ours out within 2-3 weeks of the wedding. I had purchased the thank-you’s along with our invitiations and had actually elected not to do a photo card because I didn’t want to drag out the thank-you’s.
It also helped that I had already sent thank-you cards out before the wedding for any early gifts we received. It made the thank-you’s more manageable after the wedding. I’m a little crazy about that stuff though. I’ve gotten thank you’s for other weddings a coupe months after the fact and thought nothing of it.

I think anything up to six months is acceptable, even though you technically have a year. But in any case, better late than never!

I just sent out the last of my thank you notes yesterday, on our one-month anniversary! But we also had only about 100 guests, so it wasn’t too much of a process (I do not know how you ladies who have HUGE weddings handle all the thank you’s!). I think if you can get them out within 3 months of the wedding, you’re in great shape!!

I also agree that showers and weddings are not the same. I sent my shower thank you notes the day after my shower, lol.
We got our photo cards made and I’ve been working on them for the past week. The goal is to have them out by the end of this week! I don’t know if I believe the “1 year” rule. That is a LONG time!
