I just received my order of post card Thank You notes! I also ordered some postcard envelopes, because the more I thought about it, the more I thought I wanted to send a note in an envelope. I’m not going to change my mind about the post cards since the 100 bucks is already spent, but as far as price of stamps go, that’s not a concern.
Anyways, I would really love some feedback on whether or not you all would rather receive the post cards in an envelope or just the post card. Or if you don’t care either way, that’s good to know too!
The main reasons I’m going back in forth is the weather…I live in FL and it rains every 10 seconds and I’d hate for someone’s to get ruined. On the other hand, would it be weird to recieve a postcard in an envelope?
Thanks in advance!

I’ve been debating the same thing. I hadn’t thought about weather … I was more concerned about privacy issues and the thank you being exposed for anyone to read (not that there’s anything private about a thank you…just seems weird). I’m on the fence so I’ll be anxious to see what replies you get.

Oh yeah…I didn’t even consider the privacy aspect. (I agree with you, not like there’s anything worth hiding, it just seems weird!)

I sent Thank You postcards without an envelope, I just thought it was weird to send a postcard in an envelope. I wasn’t worried about privacy (everything I wrote was totally inocuous) and they didn’t get wet/destroyed from what I’ve heard. I do know the post office slapped a sticker on the front of at least one which was very annoying.

In the envelope. You appreciate it when guests gave you presents that were wrapped up pretty, right? It’s the same thing in my mind.

since you bought the envelopes already, i’d just go ahead and use them. if you had just ordered the postcards, and were thinking about having to find and order envelopes? i’d say it’s not worth it!

bump for a little more input! leaning towards the envelopes.
I should add that there is a ‘place stamp here’ spot on the back of the post card and that’s also why I doubted putting them in envelopes!

I ordered post cards also, since the envelope came with them and both our families are fairly traditional I went witht the envelopes. I also just thought it looked better.

I’d prefer the mail man not be privy to the generous nature of my gift giving. I’d like it in an envelope, but the environmentalist in my says no envelope.
We did postcard RSVPs and some of them got back to us looking pretty ratty. So that may be a concern as well.
