Hi bees! I need some advice. So our wedding is about 5 months away. People have started to send us gifts. Might be a silly question but do I send them a thank you card now or wait to send everything until after the wedding? The other way I was thinking was maybe informally thank them for the gifts if we happen to see them, then send a formal thank you cards after the wedding? Some of the gifts are from my fiance’s family so we are sure to see them well before the wedding. Not sure what is the proper way? Any thoughts would be appreciated 🙂 TIA.

I would do it now because you will have a rush of them right at wedding time and it is much easier to get them done as they come in than to wait until you have 100 notes to write.

Do it now since the wedding is so far off. When you get to the month before the wedding, you can wait for the rest.

Do it now, it reassures them that the you did get the gift.

You have 2 weeks from the date a gift is received prior to your wedding and 4-6 weeks from when you return from your honeymoon to send thank yous for gifts received at the wedding.

Keep notes! For the peeps who would send gifts before the wedding, we did send thank you cards right away. We also sent them a different thank you card for attending the wedding later on.

I always think you should send a thank you as soon as you get the gift! That way they know you got it and that you are very appreciative.
