I’m a little embarrassed, but Darling Husband & I still have not sent out thank yous yet :(. A lot of things came up (we’re new homeowners) & sick pets & job issues & just adjusting to living together & married life, left us without time or money for making them.
Since its been over 8 months since the wedding, we figure as long as we mail them out a month before the year mark, it won’t be too horrible (even though I already feel bad).
We could just do a generic thank you from the $1 store or walmart I guess & send them out next month. However, its been almost a year so I’m wanting to put forth a little more effort. We’d like to include a few photos of the wedding or maybe a CD or IDK what else we can include in an envelope to all our guests. Ideas appreciated 🙂

Honestly – I wouldn’t wait any longer to get the custom cards done – unless you are SURE you can get them out ASAP. I think a generic thank you would be fine. Target has some beautiful letter press type ones for super cheap ($12.99 for 50!)
Writing them is going to take time and who knows what other life events will pop up.
I wouldn’t waste any more time in getting them done. You can always send photos/CD later! Or with holiday cards, etc.

I’d say send them ASAP, I definitely notice when I don’t get timely Thank Yous. I’m sure a few people would like pics or disks but most just want some acknowledgment.

I say you have passed the point of guests appreciating pictures or CD’s.
All the excuses in the world aside, I would encourage you to get the thank-you notes out asap.
Your guests have waited long enough for a simple courtesy.

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure the etiquette rules say a year at most. However, I also notice when thank yous are not sent. I received a thank you card in January from a July wedding and I thought that was late. But I’m pretty sure anything after a year is frowned upon.

As the OP said, you should work on it asap! You can get cheap thank you cards pretty much anywhere, hire your Darling Husband, grab a bottle of wine, share the pile of work and stay at your table until you are done.

Send them ASAP. Since its been almost a year since your wedding people wont be as interested in receiving a thank you with a wedding picture (sad to say :-()
