Go down to see extended family with your parents.  If his family has gotten thanksgiving every. year. so far your husband can handle one year off, especially since they themselves did the initial canceling.

Kslim13 :  Id say go do your own thing and Darling Husband can F off. He purposely left you out of his families plans, and they aren’t even doing anything the day of. Go plan your own thing with your family. When he asks you can say, oh i thought we were just leaving each other out of the loop with holiday plans right? Give him some of his own medicine. lol. But seriously you have a whole week off on a holiday!! Go enjoy!!! I worked retail most of my career and seriously you have gold here with that week. Enjoy it!!

Kslim13 :  “yes they have known for a good month now, that they were coming down.”

OMG that would make me so mad.

Also this is neither here nor there but my husband would be THROUGH THE ROOF if my parents did something like this to him. He’s a huge planner and struggled with OCD as a child (actual diagnosed OCD, for example he had to do everything in multiples of 8 reps…not 2, or 4, but 8). Point is while he no longer has diagnosable OCD, last-minute changes of plans drive him up the wall…and my parents are so bad at planning. To them it’s like why so rigid, I’m not making an appointment to see the president.  It’s been a constant struggle lol.

So I sympathize.  Hopefully you will still be able to have an enjoyable celebration with your parents and extended fam!
