What I mean is – I didn’t receive some of the more basic things from our wedding registries and so now I’m running around like a fool trying to buy simple things like cloth napkins and a gravy boat before Thanksgiving! Agh!
We received one dining set for four and one cutlery set for four and that was it. The rest – I’m on my own!
Aaagh napkin ring stress!

Don’t stress over napkin rings! Use ribbon! You can always attach a pretty fall leaf to the ribbon!
Tell your guests that, if they want to eat, they can bring their own flatware! (just kidding)

I’m hosting my first Thanksgiving this year and obviously don’t have wedding presents yet as my wedding is still over a year out. We wound up borrowing a lot of stuff, some of which is earmarked as ours when we’re wed (FI’s parents are gifting us heirloom silver, so we’re borrowing our own silverware!). I realize we’re incredibly fortunate to be borrowing 10 plates, a gravy boat, etc., and that not everyone can do that, but…Is there anyone you can borrow from?
Unless you were intending to buy all those things anyway, in which case, what a good excuse 🙂 Have fun and enjoy! (Now excuse me while I keep researching turkey brine, having never brined a turkey let alone a 24 pounder)

@BunnyBrideToBe: About the brining: don’t worry about it! Last year I used a dry brine from Williams Sonoma. That was super easy and the turkey was wonderful!! This year I purchased a regular, apple spice/something or other from them and I can’t wait to use it. 🙂
