kawood0618 : Cool – It is nice to hear more about the celebration. I wasn’t sure if there was a just 1 meal or if it was only about the food.
Wall Mart (who own one of our supermarkets) tried to introduce black friday here a few years ago. It is becoming more of a non event with each year that passes. It was a stupid thing to do 1) That Friday isn’t a public holiday 2) we don’t have thanksgiving and 3) people like me refuse to engage with it because of 1 and 2.
Though last year one of the newspaper ran a suppliment on how to cook the perfect thanksgiving meal. I was a bit like WTF? Why?

Im not sure what we are doing for thanksgiving yet, its just me and Darling Husband here! But if it ends up just being us at home then ill make
mashed potatoes with sour cream and chive (maybe ill try a cream cheese one?)
sweet potatoe casserole
dutch apple pie
french vanilla ice cream
ill make the pie the day before so less work the day of!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday!

green beans with potatoes
english peas with pearl onions and sliced boiled eggs
sweet potato casserole
canned cranberry sauce
pumpkin, pecan and apple pies

Dressing is made from crumbled cornbread. It’s essentially the same, but not entirely. I’ve had both and love both, but there is a slight difference.
