Would the courthouse be open on Thanksgiving day? When you look back on your wedding, will you be thinking about the date or the person who married you?

The Courthouse would be closed due to it being a holiday.

Do you have any other friends that are officiants?

If I knew where you lived we might be able to help you find someone or are you willing to travel?

If you have your marriage license, any friend can become ordained online and perform the ceremony for you on Thanksgiving. Otherwise, sometimes courts offer a list of ordained folks who you could call and ask about performing a small ceremony on the day. The worst they can say is no.

If you expand your search a little and are willing to drive up to two hours you increase your chances by 100 so I think it is very possible to get married on Thanksgiving : D

call local pastors as well. You probably wont be able to pick your time but most men are just chillin on thanksgiving morning waiting for the bird to be done so a morning wedding seems feasible to me!

call around ahead of time so you can pick up a marriage license in the right county

I can send off a couple of emails for you to pastors we know in that area. I dont know if they travel for Thanksgiving or not.
