I’m thankful for my family. They’re crazy, obnoxious, loud, and kind of redneck, but they’re irreplaceable and so special to me.
I’m thankful for my wonderful husband. He is supportive, caring, and just all-around amazing 🙂
I’m thankful that we are expecting a baby, and that we were blessed/lucky enough to be successful in trying to get pregnant. It isn’t as easy for a lot of people, and we are aware of how special it is to be starting a family.
I’m thankful for my dogs. They are (mostly) well behaved and healthy. My oldest great dane is going to be 6 this spring, and I’m thankful that I’ve had him in my life as long as I have, and that I am able to provide a safe, loving, happy home for him. I know he won’t be around forever, so I’m thankful for each birthday I get to celebrate with him. I’m thankful that my other great dane has settled down from a bout with separation anxiety when we adopted her. She has come out of her shell and is a wonderful addition to our family. I’m thankful that I was able to take in our fluffy mutt and be there for her when she needed a family. Her original owner was an elderly woman who passed away in her apartment, leaving the dog alone and scared. I was in the right place at the right time, and I couldn’t be happier that my sweet girl was placed in my life just when we needed each other.
I’m thankful for my job. I have a steady, secure job, health benefits, a great boss, a stable schedule, and I like what I do. I really couldn’t ask for more. Well, I did ask for a raise once and was met with a fit of maniacal laughter… I took that as a “no”.
I’m thankful for my friends. I have the best girlfriends anyone could ask for. I’m also thankful that I can be a good friend to those who have been wonderful friends to me.
Lastly, I’m thankful for the Bee. I have made some really good IRL friends here, and I’ve found this community to be so supportive and accepting, even when opinions differ. I got married and pregnant in the same year, and that’s a lot of change all at once. It’s nice to know that I’m not the only person going through these changes, and I’m so thankful that I can come here and share experiences, fears, joys, insecurities, and milestones.
Holy novel… I guess I’m thankful I’m literate as well 🙂
Have a fabulous holiday season!
