Our menu this year is a smoked turkey, pan roasted brussles sprouts with bacon, whiskey glazed carrots, apple cider glazed roasted sweet potatoes, and sausage dressing stuffed acorn squash (would also work well with butternut squash). For dessert I have a grain free, dairy free pumpkin “cheesecake” bar recipe to try.

In previous years, when I could still eat dairy, gruyere mac & cheese (http://damndelicious.net/2013/11/01/gruyere-bacon-mac-cheese/) was always a big hit. Crack potatoes also went over well (http://www.plainchicken.com/2011/01/crack-potatoes.html). Or pancetta greenbeans (http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Pancetta-Green-Beans-109269). Are you noticing a theme here? Put bacon on it, and my group will love it. haha Also, simple roasted broccoli always rocks my world. A bit of olive oil, fress broccoli, salt, pepper, a few chopped garlic cloves and a 425 oven for 20 minutes. Heaven in my mouth!

lovekiss:  Sounds yummy!

Daughter has been a vegetarian for nearly a year now, and most of her family appears to be lactose intolerant.  I’ve been on No Sugar, No Starch diet, my husband is allergic to turkey, is not a seafood lover, and is uber-picky. He picked up cornish game hens, and we are also having salmon this year.  And my husband LOVES cheesecake, and he just went out & bought root veggies-beets, parsnips, butternut squash and red and yellow potatoes.  The only thing I know is it is VERY tricky to put together a meal for all 7 of us, It almost feels like we need to plan 7 different meals!!!  I plan to try this http://allrecipes.com/recipe/double-layer-pumpkin-cheesecake-2/, but I know that we will also have our favorite pumpkin pie to serve also. Not to steal this post, but I could also use help figuring out what to do!

Soonerbee07:  We’re making a chocolate pie, buckeyes, jello, dirt cake, turkey, stuffing, gravy, deviled eggs, rotel/velveeta dip, chili/velveeta dip, buffalo chicken dip, sweet onion dip, and cheese and crackers. Then we asked other people to bring mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, squash casserole, green bean casserole (a personal favorite of mine, it’s not Thanksgiving without it!), sweet potato casserole, corn, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, ham, rolls, strawberry shortcake, cupcakes, and one of my FI’s family’s recipes that similar to apple pie. I’m so excited to eat all this amazing food and to see everyone! 🙂

We’re doing a cola whiskey glazed ham, green bean casserole, au gratin potatoes, and pumpkin pie.  It will be just the two of us 🙂

We are doing Turkey, stuffing, potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce. Others are bringing Green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, rolls, two pies and three appetizers. We will have twelve people, no special dietary restrictions thankfully.

We are having a very typical Thanksgiving. Turkey, stuffing, rolls,  mashed potatos with gravey, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole,  pumpkin and pecan pie. This will also be FI’s first time having Thanksgiving with my family, so we are adding mac and cheese to the menu for him lol
