I got married almost 3 weeks ago now and just got back from my honeymoon on Monday. I am wanting to use a professionail wedding photo on our Thankyou cards but am still waiting on our photographer to finish our photos which can take up to 2 months. He has put up just 1 teaser photo with his watermark on it but I can’t use that as the quality would be no good as he just has it on FB. I don’t want to bug him for photos though as I know he has other weddings to work on before its our turn. What if the photos still aren’t ready within 2 months? do I just go buy those plain generic ones for the shop or wait ?

I opted to use a simple thank you card (the card matched the invitations and STD- found them on Vistaprint). It was a cheaper option and allowed me to get the thank you cards out ASAP.
I really do not think you need to use or photo or include a photo in the thank you.

@cuddlz88: within 3 months, however, the sooner the better. I would ask your photographer for a picture. Yes, he’s probably busy but he might be able to get you a couple of edited pictures. I think if waiting for a picture is going to push off thank you notes for three + months you should just get plain notes. The ones we receive all go into a box of received cards anyways.

i think 3 months is good timing like ^Mrs. Beck said.
my Future Sister-In-Law & Future Brother-In-Law waited like some 6 months to send out their thank you cards for their engagement party and have YET to send out their save the dates (wedding is in march)
so they’re a LITTLE behind the ball and it’s safe to say it’s been noticed and commented upon.

Check if your photographer can send you the teaser pix hi-res, if not, I would go ahead and send your TYs out now, so you’ve gotten it out of the way.
