@mousepeach:  I get it EVERY time! I have a black diamond and everyone says that!

Me! Mines antique from the 1920’s and I always get that it’s so very me – which it is 🙂

Honestly I feel like this is what people say when they aren’t overly impressed.  Not to be mean about your ring, mine is different too and I love different erings.  I just think people are used to commenting on a big diamond, and they don’t know what to say when that’s not an option.

Or maybe I should be more charitable and assume they all really know your style and can see this matches it 🙂

Yeah I think some people said that to me. I take it as a compliment, just meaning that your ring reflects your style!

@mousepeach:  I’m newly engaged, and I’ve already gotten many comments along the lines of “It’s so you!” It’s intricate and has bows on it, and I usually dress very cutesy and adore girly things like bows and hearts.

@mousepeach:  wooow, blush/peach stones have really become my new crush along with rose/yellow gold!  So pretty!!!

I have a floral type ring and it really is so me! I literally spent 5 months pouring though the depths of the internet before we decided on mine.

It is beautiful!!!!  I love that style of ring, I came close to picking something just like it (and I did go with rose gold).   Please don’t take my comment to mean anything other than that I think people can be ignorant when it comes to this stuff.  I can’t tell you how many glassy stares I got when I talked about my barn reception, campfire, BBQ, etc.  On weddingbee things like creative erings and farm weddings are par for the course, but to the world in general they can be a little confused at first, if they’re not used to things being outside the norm.

Like they might have said “oh, what a beautiful diamond” while barely looking at it to the last 20 people who showed them their erings.  They’re all ready to say the same to you, and then they see it’s not a diamond in a tiffany band, and they have to scramble since now the comment will actually require some thought on their part.

Yup, I got the same comment. That the “antique-y” feel of it was very “me”. I’m like… are you calling me old? <.<

I think they mean, it’s so you! Take it as reassurance you picked the right ring to reflect who you are.
