I went to Helzberg today and tried on a little 1mm half eternity curved wedding band to match my ring. The lady behind the counter looked at my engagement ring and asked, “Are those real sapphires?” It kinda caught me off-guard. She later told me it was pretty, but I don’t know why she asked. They are only .25cts each, and it’s not like sapphires are super rare. She didn’t question if the diamond was real…I’m confused.

She was probably just being mean. I wouldn’t sweat it.

@sweetpea87: That’s odd.
@MissHobbit: Probably. What a strange question w/o an explanation. I’d figure she was just being rude or super socially awkward.

I find that odd anyone esp. someone working at a jewelry department to ask that. :/ I wouldn’t worry about it though doll! 🙂

It is odd, but don’t let it get to you, she was rude and you are better than that.

@sweetpea87: Ugh. Jewelry salespeople seem to have zero tact. Don’t let it bother you.

Yet another reason I avoid most chain jewelry stores like the plague. I have rarely had a good experience, the people are so rude and try to make you feel like your jewelry is soooo inferior to the stuff they carry.
