My best friend texted me today, saying let’s take a couple’s trip at the end of the month. To one of my absolute favorite cities. I said I was in, but let me check with my bf. Normally, he is hesitant to take off of work, so I was anticipating at least a conversation about dates that may work. But he agreed and mentioned the exact same dates she had. And it is relatively soon.
I told him my only proposal request was that, if possible, someone be there to snap a couple pictures. Now, I may just be creating connections that aren’t there, but he has the ring. He is enjoying teasing me about how I will probably figure out when it is coming, but that he will try his best to make it special. I told him it already is with him as my life partner to be…but my favorite city with my best friend in the loop seems a little suspect.
Am I making up a great story, or does this seem a little too orchestrated to anyone else?

I mean, proceed with minor skepticism, but I’d recommend you and your best friend get your nails done before the trip 🙂

That sounds suspicious to me! That being said, my close friend’s husband did about 8 thinks that sounded wildly suspicious after he got the ring before he eventually proposed.

totally suspicious!! My Dh thinks it’s insane that I figured out he was proposing by him saying he was going to “cook a romantic dinner” for my birthday… I knew he had the ring and he had never specifically labeled a dinner ‘romantic’ even though we have had romantic dinners before. He was pretty obvious and adorable. I’d say you better get a mani before you go!!! <3

Just try not to ruin your trip by letting yourself get wrapped up in the possibility of getting engaged (especially if it ends up not happening). But as mentioned before, I say get your nails done and have a cute outfit planned for each day you’re there

I’m not sure what you want:
a complete surprise and the anticipation, with the possibility of disappointment? If so, are you are asking us to in the forum to look for “clues” with you and play along?
or do you want some actual security and insight which may take some of the fear and adrenaline from the situation? In which case, approaching it with him just to check your expectations and manage a power differential.

Merely an amusing note on my day, and anyone interested in chiming in is welcome to. There is no fear or concern on my part. Just sounds like it may be soon and thought to pose it to this audience and hopefully illicit a smile or two while helping me “sleuth”. Also, the manicure reminders are helpful! But no, this is not one of those posts imploring bees to tell me what to do. I am just here for fun.

I think he’s gonna do it!

Be prepared but not upset if it doesn’t happen! Ik my bf has the ring and there have been times I thought he’d do it but still waiting. Like others have said, definitely get those nails done and dress cute. But those aren’t bad mottos to always live by!

I was right! I am now engaged to the love of my life and absolutely thrilled!!! He proposed on Friday afternonn. My best friend got great pics and video, and I was completely surprised. I didn’t get a chance to get a mani and was dressed for comfort, but it was still amazing and perfect.
