the 1 thing I regret getting for my wedding, was a DJ. I spent $1600 for NOTTA, because NO ONE DANCED.
Ok, a few people (literal – 3-4) people danced.
And then a few days ago, I see my DJ contacted my photographer on her facebook… he wished her well, and that it was nice meeting her. She replied with “nice meeting u too, hope u eventually got some people out on the dance floor!” wow. thanks. i really didnt think it was THAT obvious, but i guess it was.
i’m embarrassed…and furious for having spent that money.
we should have just eloped, really. we couldhave still had nice photography and i could have still had a pretty dress… but instead of wasting money on people, we could have traveled with that $1600. sigh.
so whats the 1 thing you regret having bought for your wedding?

LOL I can’t believe she said that.
I have a vintage car that I have no clue why the fuck I got it. I won’t be leaving before anyone…. Stupid car.

Champagne toast, it sounded like a good idea, but we had an open bar so most people were content with drinking/toasting with what they had. Plus I don’t drink lol. Fortunately it didn’t really cost us much.

GoGoAnonon: yeah… We didn’t really need a DJ either. Next to no one danced, but we got to do some karaoke so it was kind of fun even without the dancing. Plus ours was only $300 so it was a bargain.
I’d say the thing we should have foregone was probably favors and centerpieces. They looked nice and everything but I have 50 coasters leftover and a buttload of unnecessary vases. Also, not that it was expensive but we could have done without a cake. It wound up on my face and I think one person took a slice. All the others enjoyed their cheesecake.

It wasn’t a big thing but I wonder why I spent quite so much money on my steampunk’ish headband that I only wore to my evening reception. I can’t see it in the pictures and it wasn’t particularly comfortable either! Luckily it was only an accessory rather than a Big Thing because I don’t regret any other aspect of the day.

GoGoAnonon: Can I say certain guest I could have done without. Lol, jokes.
Ummm I was pretty particular on how I spent my money, so there wasn’ much of a waste. I could say I could have spent a couple hundred mor on things to make the wedding run more smooth and less of a stress.
I sometimes wish we eloped and kept our money and went on a fabulous crazy long honeymoon/elopment.

- Wedding: April 2012 - Chateau Briand
I spent a lot of money on two pairs of shoes… Really??!!? Wtf was I thinking?!?? Not like I had a tea length dress for people to see them

GoGoAnonon: It might have had more to do with your crowd than the DJ. Sometimes people would rather listen than dance, so it was not necessarily for nothing. Look on the bright side, it probably means that people were engaged and talking to one another!

We were very intentional about all our purchases except for the programs. For $100, they weren’t too expensive, but I could have done without. NH insisted! (the things we do for love :P)

We had waaaaaaaay too much wine. It was a hot night and everybody drank beer and frozen margaritas. Almost a year later we still have cases of leftover wine!

Should have gone without the chocolate fountain. To be fair, I was super excited about it and it was going to be our special evening treat, but then Mother-In-Law swooped in and ordered a $3,000 sweet table (actually tableS- there were 3, and no, she did not get the ok from us to do this). No one touched the $1,000 chocolate fountain. I was pretty bummed that we wasted all that money.
