@brokeninnj: Ooh have you searched on Pinterest?
I would do cheese, crackers, fruit for snacks – then make some cupcakes with colorful frosting top them off with homemade cat in the hat paperhats (play around to figure that out) or plastic bugs you can find at the dollar store?
Play a few games that are 4 year old appropriate!

Dollar Store all the way! you can spend $35 and get everything you need from candy bags, cake mix, plates and napkins EVERYTHING!
I thought this candy table was cute
You could have a dress up station with homemade crafts like this picture below. You could get the poster board from the dollar store too.

Jello is also a great treat…its cheap and comes in a lot of different colours.

For bugs you could make a worm dirt cake.. it’s a tad bit costly, but you wouldn’t have to make a huge one!
Or you could make small cups for a snack and then a small cake as well.

dollar store for SURE for decorations, party hats, balloons etc.
get some cake mix for a cake/cupcakes – if you’re doing ‘bugs’ you could put gummy worms on the cake/cupcakes.
i don’t have any children so i’m not sure what games you’d pla with 4 year olds – but i’m sure you know!
i’d keep food simple – does your son have a favourite? mac n cheese? grilled cheese sandwiches? pizza?
okay – just looked at the younghouselove link above – do that!

At my sons kinder party we covered some tables with butchers paper ( which we got for free from our butcher) and all the kids decorated it they loved it. We actually keep it and put it up on the wall. It looked awesome
