Slowly but surely….weight loss has gone from 16 to 18 since the last post. At this rate, I don’t know if I’ll be able to lose another 43 by February.

Hey fellow 2014 bees!

I’m IN! I REALLY want to lose at least 30 lbs by September (when I go to try on dresses), but I’d like to be down 90 lbs by my wedding on May 10, 2014, which should be around 8lbs a month! That’s TOTALLY doable!

WE CAN DO IT!!!!

Ooooh, me too! I’m hoping to lose at least 20-25 by this September so I can go try dresses on and not feel totally down on myself. My ultimate goal is 50-60 by my wedding next September 20.

My wedding date is July 26th, 2014. I really want to lose 20 lbs (want to drop from a size 14 to 10). I eat healthy, have started running every day, and follow the toneitup videos on youtube.

Sad thing is that even if I manage to drop to a size 10, I will still be bigger than all of my bridesmaids…

@heathie1: I agree, it’s good to have a little reminder once in a while =) I purposefully put my pinterest wedding board and fitness board next to each other so I see it every time I go on pinterest

Hey bees! I hope to get married in 2014 – we havent picked a date yet. But before we do i really, really want to loose 40 pounds/20 kg. I’ve been on a weight loss/health journey for two years now and i have already lost 40 pounds with only eatihng healthy and in smaller portions. Now i’ve started running and lifting weights (up to 10 lbs, not heavy lifting yet) and i will measure myself on the 3rd of next mont to check if i have made progress. If thats not the case i will switch up my diet.

To motivate myself to exercize i watch the biggest loser (older seasons) and it helps me a lot!

Anyway, i am looking forward to having other brides-to-be, who are loosing weight for their wedding day and the rest of their life, of course!

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!

Here are some motivational quotes to get all you Bees movin’ and groovin’! Keep up the good work! Remember, this is for YOU!

Mark Twain: Habit is habit and not to be flung out of the window by any man, but coaxed downstairs a step at a time.

Julius Erving: If you don’t do what’s best for your body, you’re the one who comes up on the short end.

Jim Eason: If you want to look young and thin, hang around old fat people.

Unknown Author: Instead of giving myself reasons why I can’t, I give myself reasons why I can.

Vince Lombardi: It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get up.

Milton Garland: My advice is to go into something and stay with it until you like it. You can’t like it until you obtain expertise in that work. And once you are an expert, it’s a pleasure.

Winston Churchill: Never, never, never, never give up.

Eleanor Roosevelt: No one can make you feel inferior without your permission.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi: Not to have control over the senses is like sailing in a rudderless ship, bound to break to pieces on coming in contact with the very first rock.

Horace: Rule your mind or it will rule you.

Ellen Degeneres: You have to stay in shape. My grandmother, she started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She’s 97 today and we don’t know where the hell she is.

Benjamin Franklin: You may delay, but time will not.

David Viscott: You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be.

Eleanor Roosevelt: You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

George Bernard Shaw: You see things; and you say “Why?” But I dream things that never were; and I say “Why not?”

Ralph Marston: Your goals, minus your doubts, equal your reality.

George S. Patton: You’re never beaten until you admit it.

Lee Iacocca: You’ve got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it. It’s called perseverance.

Unknown Author: You don’t drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Unknown Author: You don’t realize how strong a person really is until you see them at their weakest moment.

Goethe: Take care of your body with steadfast fidelity. The soul must see through these eyes alone, and if they are dim, the whole world is clouded.

Jim Rohn: Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.

Thomas Fuller: That which is bitter to endure may be sweet to remember.

Samuel Johnson: The chains of habit are generally too small to be felt until they are too strong to be broken.

Marvin Phillips: The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph!

Plato: The first and the best victory is to conquer self.

Vincent Lombardi: The good Lord gave you a body that can stand most anything. It’s your mind you have to convince.

Leigh Hunt: The groundwork of all happiness is health.

Anthony Robbins: The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talent to produce outstanding results.

Roger Bannister: The man who can drive himself further once the effort gets painful is the man who will win.

Author unknown: The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking places.

Thomas Jefferson: The sovereign invigorator of the body is exercise, and of all the exercises walking is the best.

Carl Sandburg: The time for action is now. It’s never too late to do something.

Harold Wilkins: The world of achievement has always belonged to the optimist.

Heraclitus: There is nothing permanent except change.

Swedish Proverb: Those who wish to sing, always find a song.

Elie Wiesel: Ultimately, the only power to which man should aspire is that which he exercises over himself.

Martin Luther King, Jr.: We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.

Harriet Beecher Stowe: When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.

Quintus Horatius Flaccus Horace: Who has courage to say no again and again to desires, to despise the objects of ambition, who is a whole in himself, smoothed and rounded.

Out of the 20lbs I was aiming to lose by next spring, I am down 5lbs already in the last 2 weeks. I was starting to get discouraged because despite months of healthy eating and daily runs, the weight just wasn’t budging. Yay, suddenly my body is cooperating!!

Hi bees! I’m getting married on May 25, 2014. I’m currently 224 I’ve lost a few pounds in the past month. Gained a lot in muscle. I’m in school for massage therapy – I finish THIS september. Yes I’m crazy, planning a wedding, school and full-time work all in one year. My goal is to tone my jiggle and YES loose some weight. I was 190 last June and I gained a lot of weight when I started a new job which I sit too much at and school. I’d like to get down to 160 ideally. I’m ordering my dress from a dressmaker out of Cali in January and she only takes a month to make the dress. So I have time!

I have a gym membership at Anytime Fitness – I just got to get there as often as I can. Ideally 3 days a week – 40 minutes on cardio and 20 on weights. I’ve been off that sadly for the past couple of weeks and I’m working to get back to that goal of 3 days a week but it ISN’T easy with the limited time I have between school at night and work all day. I’ve always been a bigger girl but I am at my heaviest and super unhappy about it! Nice to meet all you lovely ladies <3

So I went to try on wedding dresses with my mom and sister about 2 weeks after getting engaged. I was so excited, was hoping for something magical. I did not like what I saw in the mirror. Not what I had pictured. But for once, I actually did something about it. A month and a half later and I am down 10 lbs! We did another round of dress shopping a two weeks ago, and the difference was huge! At the time I was only down 6 lbs, but perhaps it was a combination of the weight loss and the fact that I just feel better about myself. My biggest suggestions to my fellow bees; if you work in an office at a desk all day like me, don’t snack on anything but fruits and veggies. You can eat more of these things so you don’t feel hungry, and you will eliminate hundreds of calories from your daily intake. Also, don’t deprive yourself of the things you love. Portion control! I still eat pizza, I still eat chocolate, all the things I love, but I keep careful track of it. My secret weapon is this amazing app called Calorie Count. It’s also on the web at caloriecount.com.

I need to add more exercise to my routine, but I am still losing weight. We can do it!!!

To hold the lumps and bumps in while you’re still losing weight and when you’re shopping for dresses, here are two great pieces of shapewear. I own both, they really slim hips and tummies:
