@cheert16:  Congrats on the weight loss!!! Totally awesome! I was hoping to hit 35 pounds down by the end of this month but I dont see it happening as im still 6 pounds away. I think I’ve hit my plateau. And us women with PCOS it means we have to work much much harder. But, im not giving up! I know I need to work on this to better help my chances of conceiving a LO!

@hamikay:  Trip at the end of the year is a great goal to keep you going!! We have a beach trip planned for the end of August and I keep looking as if we get pregnant of course I’d be ecstatic, but if not, at least I can be able to enjoy the trip a little more! =)

@lonsk:  I would go strait to RE so you know your in good hands and the tests are done correctly. Saves you from the frustrations im going through at the moment with my Dr.

@hamikay:  Any idea where you guys might go? My parents have a place in Northern MI (only about 4 hours from us) that we go to for long weekends and mini vacations- but the thought of a ‘REAL” vacation sounds great!

@lonsk:  While I certainly appreciate our “free” healthcare it does make it super hard to get in anywhere, doesn’t it?  I got a referral to an OB/Gyno/RE clinic back in April, and they aren’t able to actually see me until next week.  I don’t really know what the best route is to speed that stuff up is, but if you find out let me know!

@Mrs. Jaguar:  I’m ok.  Still waiting around for AF… I think it’s day 88 or something ridiculous like that.  I stopped being able to count it myself without checking FF.  So just checking in here, and being supportive of others that are actually seeing some action down there.  All stern talking to’s are more than welcome.

@gingersnap25:  What happened? I’m sorry you are left in limbo about your test results. Hopefully you will get some good answers soon.

@BrianneG:  Good luck! I hope the side effects of Clomid won’t be too bad for you.

@Mrs. Pretzel:  Welcome back!

@Yellow.Clover:  I’m sorry! I get your frustration. Can you repeat the blood test at the right time (7dpo)?

View original reply
@Mrs. Jaguar:  Yeah for no nasal spray!!! I hope the time on birth control goes by super fast for you.

@bunnees:  Glad to hear that you had a good start with your RE. Sounds like he knows what needs to be done. FX for a strong O!

@cheert16:  Welcome back! A huge congratulation on your weight loss! Wow!!!

@hamikay:  A trip sounds like a great thing to do. We’re also travelling around New Years. I do not want to sit at home and imagine what could have been if it would have worked. I rather do some other fun stuff.

View original reply
@lonsk:  I would prob go straight to a walk in clinic and skip the GP part. I mean you only want a referral and your RE will prob repeat all the tests anyways. Doctor’s don’t seem to trust each other πŸ˜‰

@SapphireSun:  I’m still surprised that you have to wait that long to see an RE. I can recommend PCRM in Burnaby should you ever look into a change.

I’m CD 3/Cycle#14 and have not much to report. Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!

@elchalten:  I messaged my doctor and got a reply that she’s out of the office until the 26th, which would make 8 dpo which may be too late?? I will ask her and find out. Im just so frustrated with her right now, even though im thankful in a way she’s doing this without classifying it as fertility so I dont have to pay the outrageous co-pays. But at the same time, im starting to think maybe I just need her to refer me to the RE. I’m going to talk to my hubby this weekend and see what he thinks we should do. We have so much going on this year that im afraid he will not want to commit to the expense until things slow down.

@bunnees:  Thanks for the support, it means the world.

I was certainly beyond frustrated yeterday and pretty much everyone knew it…I was spitting nails!  Found out that the story the genetic testing place told my RE was that there was a labeling mix up …  good news, though is that they only had to take one vile, not a gazillion…and since it takes two weeks for those results to come back it is a no brainer about getting the rubella vaccination.  Turns out I can just go to CVS and have it done, who knew…and my insurance covers it.  Sadly, today is CD1 – held on to a small sliver of hope that we wouldn’t even need to worry about these continuous set backs.  And also sad that we would have been starting our IUI with injectibles this cycle which would bring us that much closer at having a shot at this.  On to a cycle where we can’t try…oh, TTC mind games, how I love thee πŸ™‚

FUNNY SIDE NOTE: When speaking to my RE about getting the rubella vaccine, she said make sure I take a HPT to ensure I am not pregnant.  I told her today was CD1, and she said to still take it to make sure…  thanks, cause I love looking at negative tests.  Is it Happy Hour yet???

Thanks for the welcome back!

I had to pop in to share a little good news on a friday.  I just got my test results from my 7DPO blood draw from last cycle.  My progesterone was 14.4 and my TSH (Thyroid) was 1.21!  I have been chronically hypothyroid (in the 2.6 range) and actually went hyperthyroid (like .08) recently when my does was too high- I have NEVER been at that sweetspot that is 1.21.  I am grinning from ear to ear!  We are sure I O’ed last month and the progesterone agrees.  Now to see if it stays high next cycle. (we suspect I have a fair number of annovulatory cycles).

What good news can you share today?

@SapphireSun:  I forgot to mention how much I admire you for your what you do in your occupation, that must pull some major heartsrings on a regular basis. Thank you

I hear ya, If I ever figure out a way to speed things up I will let you know!

I want to thank all you ladies for your opinions regarding GP vs. RE. I went to a walk in clinic today with the name and fax number of the RE I wanted a referal to. Initially the doctor suggested sending me to the fertility clinc but would not do so without DH being there with me. I’m too impatient so agreed when he then said or I could refer you directly to this RE. So YEAHHHH! finally we are on the road to some testing!

On a funny note – I stopped to get some CBFM test strips and the sales girl took one look at then and suggested I hang upside down off the edge of the bed following BD! Funny how unshy people can be!Laughing

@gingersnap25:  *hugs* Because taking a preggo test that we KNOW will be negative, while bleeding from the lady parts is SO good for the TTC-er’s well being. Ugh.

@lonsk:  Thank goodness. πŸ™‚ I’m glad you got your referral.

Found out today that some good friends have just started TTC. I’m having this eerie feeling that they’ll be one of the lucky couples who gets knocked up fairly quickly… so I’m already bracing myself.

So, I was super sneaky this morning and dug my thermometer out of DH’s hiding spot for it. My temp wasn’t just low…it was like pre-O dip low. I thought one stray temperature would just assure me that after 44 days I was somewhere in the TWW. Wrongggg.

Can I just reiterate how FRUSTRATING this whole process is? Especially when you have NO IDEA what your body is doing??

In other news, I *get* to go sit through a four hour seminar now. On insurance policies when working with children. On a Saturday morning at 9am. Please tell me you ladies have something MORE fun planned?

Sorry for being a whiner. I’m just annoyed this morning.

@Mrs. Jaguar: hmm, yes, a new puppy every failed cycle could end up a little crazy πŸ˜‰ but Spencer will bring you joy for years!

@MRSLMA:  i would LOVE to go back to America, I got to go on a very quick and busy 10 day trip for school (unheard of!!) in november 2010, and would love to see more with hubby. we were visiting specific schools and a conference, so very limited in terms of sightseeing (boise, pheonix and riverside, california). I’ve always been a europe girl, but been there twice now, and think hubby would enjoy US more… but, not sure if we can afford it. dreaming will keep me busy for a while though πŸ˜‰

@Mrs. Pretzel:  congrats on your great results – not sure that I entirely understand them, but know they must be good πŸ˜€

@SapphireSun:  oh you are a saint to be on day 88 of your cycle!! I thought my 46 days felt like a lifetime!! (note to self – never complain to SapphireSun!!)

@gingersnap25:  sorry about CD1 – hope you found a Happy Hour!

@lonsk:  glad to hear your testing is on its way – although you wont need it if only you hang upside down… apparently!

@Mrs. Jaguar:  I feel the same about my SIL, who has started hinting that they are close to trying. I’m ok with most friends’ announcements, but she is SO unmaternal that I think it would really sting if she were to ‘beat’ us. Plus, I really want us to have the first grandchild, even though we were married 5 years after them :s

@redsmarties:  gahh, what a hellish Saturday!! and if  you had to get up to hunt for your thermometer, would that have affected your temp…??

i’ve had a great Saturday – very lazy with baaaad cramps this morning (not so good…), then took Charli to the dog park with hubby, went shopping and got a new dress and scarf, baked a DELICIOUS cake, then went to our friends place and got some baby cuddles (6 months and adorable!!), yummy roast and loads of wine. Hope you all have/had a nice Saturday too!

@hamikay:  I tracked my thermometer down last night. Ohhh I had this whole thing planned.

Finally back from the seminar….oh it was BRUTAL you guys. SO so bad – and not because it was boring, but because the presenter was extremely uninformed and inappropriate. The rest of my weekend is looking up though – its beautiful here! Thinking I need a beer on a patio somewhere. What are you all up to?

@hamikay:  I so desperately wanted to have the first grandchild for both of our parents – we were married first, and we have been trying so long. It’s not going to happen, and it hurts.

It’s Sunday morning here – I’m watching Hoarders (& feeling really CLEAN in comparison) and hoping to spend some time just RELAXING today.
