@Yellow.Clover:  Yay for cross hairs!!  I think everyone moved over to the 1 year + board and we got quiet over here.

AFM, not much going on…have some spotting and AF is likely only a few hours away (temp drop today).  Gonna have a SHG this cycle to look for causes of my early spotting.  Bought a book on traditional Chinese medicine for infertility and trying out some of the diet recommendations, but just have to laugh at the fact that there are *soooo many*…would be impossible to follow them all.  Has anyone tried TCM stuff successfully (especially for male factor?)  DH is working out of town for the next 2 months, which is gonna make timing BD’ing and his repeat SA’s all the more fun.

@nyckitten:  Sorry about the temp drop and spotting. I have not tried it for male factor. But I was looking at TCM yesterday for me. I’ve been slowly trying to adjust my diet for it but it’s so hard. I also printed them and gave them to my accupunturist to see if it would help any, but he doesn’t got by TCM he does Western medicine (didn’t know that). I would give it a try, doesn’t hurt, right? : )  I also have a HSG scheduled next cycle, but I’m praying AF stays away!

It’s been quiet on this board lately.  Has everyone gone over to the 1 year + thread?

Today is CD 1 on cycle 11 for me 🙁  I was kind of hoping that it would work out this month this is the last month we were trying on our own.  I now have to call to set up my saline sonogram and then do blood work on CD 3.  This is going to be our first month of IUI and I really hope that it works!!  I’m tryin to stay positive.  How is everyone else doing?

@funnybunny:  I know, it’s soooo quiet!! I’m so sad : (

Sorry about CD1, but it sounds like your set up for a very promising cycle! Lots of new things happening. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you that you get your bfp this cycle!

I think I am joining this board – it is our 6th month TTC anyway!  So I just want to say hello to any ladies on this board.

We are getting DH’s boys tested this month, so I think we have officially entered new territory that none of my fertile friends have been to.  Have any of you all done this yet?  I can tell he is nervous, but he doesn’t want me to go with him and it is his choice.

@MellowMood:  Welcome!  Many of us have been through this before.  I am the first one of my friends to go through a lot of this.  This community is a great place to get support.  My DH got his boys tested last month.  He went by himself and was ok with that.  He said that strangest part about it was when he was done, he had to sit in the waiting room with his sample.  They gave him a brown bag to put his cup in, but he still said that was odd.  It turns out that his swimmers have a motility problem which is why we are now moving onto IUI.  Good luck with the test – hopefully everthing turns out normal.

hi everyone,

just bumping up this thread!

@Yellow.Clover:

i have actually had some new developments.

talking it over with my husband and RE, and asking some questions that I didn’t ask at the last appointment, we’ve made the decision to go to laparoscopy if we don’t get pregnant this cycle. (I’m planning to POAS on Nov 6).

so, my surgery date is tentatively scheduled for November 15th. i’m just glad to actually be closer to getting some answers about whether or not my tubes are open!

@MellowMood:  welcome! yes my DH hated that too. but, it’s one test and then it’s over. doesn’t really compare to some of the things that we have to go through if you end up getting the full fertility workup!

@funnybunny:  good luck with your IUI!

@nyckitten:  i’ve looked into TCM diet recommendations too and I have to say, some of it seems perfectly reasonable but some of it just doesn’t make sense to me! (e.g why does it matter if I drink cold or hot drinks?) anyway, just wanted to say good luck with that and it will be interesting to see if it works for you!

Sorry I haven’t been around as much lately–I’ve just needed a little bit of distance from thinking about TTC so much, but I wanted to check in and see how everyone’s doing.  I guess a lot of people have moved to the 1 year+ group!

Today is CD 1 for me (BOOO!) I’m feeling really sad and discouraged.

@MellowMood:  Welcome!  We haven’t had my husband do the SA yet, but I’m going to be more aggressive about encouraging him to do it now.  We’ve been TTC for 10 months, but I know we got our timing wrong on several cycles so I was hoping that was the problem.  I still hope that’s the problem, but I think the SA is the next step for us.

@nyckitten:  Hubby and I are seeing a Naturo, which I think can be similar to TCM, and I solely attribute my first ever BFP (which only lasted a day, but i’m choosing to see as HUGE progress) to her work so far. I’m a bit of a sceptic, but I’d heard amazing things about this woman, so I thought it was worth a go while I was waiting to see a specialist.

Yes some of the advice seems weird (warm vs cold food/drink), but hey, it’s also pretty easy to do. Seeing a person is helpful coz they can assess your diet and make specific suggestions. For instance, I thought i was doing well with my fibre-filled wheat cereal, and she changed it for oats – and i thought I was doing well with natural yoghurt as lunch/snack and she said that was too ‘cold’ for me and switched me to corn thins and hummus instead. She’s also given me a prescription for prenatals that are SOOOO much better than the OTC ones I was taking, and has me drinking weird, disgusting herbs with Vitex in it. I have lots more energy, my circulation has improved (no more freezing feet at night) and my digestion is regular.

Hubby is taking things to help with his IBS, then will start getting more herbs/vitamins at our next appointment next week. He is an even BIGGER sceptic, but is feeling better from what she’s prescribed so far, so is willing to give it a go.

It’s not cheap by the time we pay for appointments and supplements… but neither is anything fertility related. And even if we have to get further help, at least I feel like I’m in better internal shape than I was before!! She said with my poor circulation that my uterus would be in bad shape, and unable to support an embryo, so I figure it’s worth trying to get that sorted before IUI or whatever anyway.

Haha – can you tell I’m a convert??!!
