@ChuckNorris:  Wow that dr sounds awesome! Super informative. I think a lot of what you wrote is similar to what I have going on. I bbt and my charts look like they should for O.  But it wasnt until I started bloodwork that they realized what was happening. I do O just not with enough pizzazz! So I was put on 50 mg clomid. They monitored me and I had a follicle u/s bothy 2 days before I typically O. They send home and tell me to make sure we Bd. (lol). I got pg the first time with clomid after 8-9 mths of trying. When they confirmed the pg with bloodwork shOwed my progesterone was really low. I was put on progesterone.  Unfortunately I had an ectopic pg which they tell me is rare. And I dont think that progesterone was the reason.  I’m now on my 2nd cycle post ectopic and I am still on 50mg clomid. I get the folicle u/s to chceck that I am about to O. (i still temp).  About 2-3 days after i O I start talk 100 mg of oral prometrium/progesterone. I believe waiting until BFP is too late to really help progesterone but I’m not 100% sure of that.  This cycle I asked to get a progesterone blood draw at about 6-7dpo to see what my level is and if I need a stronger dose. It came back at a strong number. So I will continue what I’m doing. Hopefully I will get a BFP and have them continue to monitor my progesterone.

I havent had some of the tests that your new doctor is doing. But he sounds so knowledgeable. I think you are definitely on the right track! Good Luck and I anxiously await what he tells you.

@Wispy:  I’m so sorry about your ectopic pregnancy =( My goodness, how scary! Do you have any residual issues/problems from that? And when you get your ultrasound(s), how many do you get before O? What happens if several follicles show up? How does Clomid make you feel? Thank you for sharing your story. I mean, of course I’m sad we have issues, but I’m glad I have someone to kind of relate to… You know?

I like that, “O but without pizzazz.” I think that’s exactly what I think I have.

@ChuckNorris:  thank you. It was much more of an emotional struggle for me. Since I was keeping such a close eye on everything I got my BFP the day AF was due and had bloodwork 2x in the first week. It showed low beta #s and my dr said I would most likely miscarry. I started to mc the next week around 5+ weeks Pg.  I has bloodwork done almost 2x a week for several weeks.  My # fluctuated up and down (never getting too high). Eventually they put me on meds to try to get the beta down. There was a thought that I may have been pg with twins and that’s why the number was doing that. Sigh. The meds didn’t lower the beta. I then went to a specialist and he found the ectopic in my right tube.  I theN went to to the hospital for a methotrexate shot. W/I 3 weeks of that my beta was 0. From the time I got BFP until the 0 beta was 2 mths! I was super fortunate bc as far as I know i had no damage.

I have has no side effects from clomid (at leastnothing like what others have posted). The only thimg I’ve ever felt is like little jumpingbeans in my lower stomach (lol). I usually get an internal u/s about 2 days before I O (I’ve charted since November so I have a pretty good idea of when). the cycle of my mc I had a large follicle in my right and left side.  The last cycle I had 2 on my left (one in front of the other). This time I habe a large one on my right a small one also and insignificant one on left.

I get nervous that I will end up pg with a basketball team (and anything is possible) but my dr and from what I’ve read you just are at a higher rate of twins.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything. It is a crazy roller coaster. The biggest advice I can give is to ask questions and speak up if you aren’t sure. I leave a message at least 2x a week at my doctor. Lol

@Wispy:  Oh my gosh, what a nightmare! That sounds awful, I’m so sorry for your loss and for your struggles. I applaud you for staying so positive despite all that =)

I’m so glad to hear someone had no side effects of Clomid. I’m scared/nervous/excited to do my first round… I’ve never heard anyone say that they have had no side effects – I hope I will be like you!!!!! Do they ever do unmonitored cycles of Clomid? I’ve been charting since January and my O dates (if at all) have varied from 13-22…lol. I hope it regulates with Clomid!

I literally laughed out loud at “pregnant with a basketball team.” That is totally my fear!!!!! LOL.

Thank you so much for your support and help. I’m sure I will be pestering you a lot =) Let me know if it gets too much πŸ˜‰ haha

@Wispy:  Oh, I remember your terrible struggle. I keep forgetting its you, because you had a different username at the time, didn’t you?

@ChuckNorris:  Oh, I hope that Clomid helps you! I’m desperate to get to a different doctor when I move cities, because neither my GP OR my RE has prescribed Clomid (and I O anywhere from CD18-Cd50). Hope you have no side effects, a great big O, and a BFP…with only one or two babies in there.

As for me, I’m CD 20, waiting on O. Thought it might show up earlier because of my supplements and weight loss, but I’m still waiting. Ordered a new shipment of OPKs (I haven’t been using them the last 3 cycles because of stress), so I hope that will help NEXT cycle.

@redsmarties:  Not even your RE?!!?? What the heck, man? When are you moving? Thank you for your well wishes =) I hope we both get our BFPs sooner rather than later πŸ˜‰

Hope O shows up soon! Maybe you could get some OPKs at the store to hold you over until the shipment comes in? Congrats on your weight loss =)

@ChuckNorris:  No clue. They’re like, well…you’re ovulating. And I’m like YEAH, on day FIFTY! But we move two weeks from today, so I’ll start looking for new doctors ASAP.

@redsmarties:  Yeah that was me.  I decided once my beta was 0 that I needed a new name. A fresh start.  Oh I hope this is my month! How are you doing?????

@ChuckNorris:  Please feel free to ask me whatever you need to.  I have been helped so much from the ladies on these threads.  I have never done an unmonitored cycle of clomid (and I won’t) b/c I’ve heard if you have too many viable follicles they typically suggest you not continue on for that cycle (at least that’s what I’ve read).   My basketball team freak out happened last month b/c I O’d later than they predicted from my u/s and 2 days later than I usually do. I began dreaming that my follicles had extra time to develop and split… lol.  It sounds so silly when you say it out loud, but honestly the meds we take and the crazy hormones just cause you to think a little strangely sometimes.  This cycle I was scheduled for a saline u/s (to check fibroids).  It ended up being the day I typically O.  So I asked the tech to check my follicles first and then I asked the Dr if getting the test was a good idea since I looked like I was about to O.  He took the time to go over my u/s pics and talk with me.  He decided not to do the test but told me if AF should arrive then call and immediately reschedule. (so I feel like this site has helped inform me alot and I have become much more vocal than I ever was).    Good Luck with Clomid!!!! I have my fingers crossed for yoU!!

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!

@Mrs. Lox:  I survived turning 35 and will be here for you next month!  I was in a weird mood on my birthday despite trying really hard to have fun, but the night ended well and then I had a really fun rest of the weekend with additional birthday activities.  It still kinda freaks me out, but I’m alive and feeling inspired!

@Wispy:  I hope 35 will be as good for me as it was for you!  I’m encouraged knowing it was such an awesome year for you.  Thank you–oh and you have a birthday coming up as well!  And please hang out here a little too.  I know a lot of you have moved to the 1 year+ thread, but that doesn’t leave a lot of us left here and I sure love chatting with you!

@ChuckNorris:  Oh my gosh lady your doctor sounds absolutely amazing!! Wow! I wish I could help you a little more with your questions, but, I too have had no side affects from Clomid. Just a little moodiness and emotional at some times, but I’m not 100% sure I can blame that on the Clomid. LOL. I will say I take mine at night about an hour before bed. I did a little googling and found that most who take it at night have no side affects?? I have no idea why, but that’s just what I came across. And yes, I’m pretty sure his term of blowing out your tubes, is an HSG. I’m supposed to have one within the next month or two, but hesitant on it. Good luck to you and I wish you the best of luck with this doctor. He sounds like he’s going to get you KU pretty darn soon! Eeek!

@cafegirl:  Oh thank you! I can’t leave you Ladies. You have helped me too much.

Im trying to stay calm. I’m cd22/9-11dpo. I have cramps and I think I had small spotting this morning. I’m going to stay positive but I’m terrified I won’t get a BFP. I don’t know what my plan will be.  But for now I’m trying so hard to be positive.
