@Yellow.Clover:  congrats on the house offer! how is it going now?? sold??!

View original reply
@funnybunny:  all the best for this cycle – it will be a big one for you!

@MellowMood:  welcome to the board, sorry you have to be here. Hubby has done one SA, which took a bit of convincing but got there in the end. Results were lower than ideal, but he’d just had a bad cold so that may have affected it. Now i’m struggling to get him there for the follow-up – so frustrating!!!

@hellorebecca:  FX for a BFP before the lapro – but glad you have a plan for if it doesn’t work out too ๐Ÿ™‚

@cafegirl:  oh no – so sorry about CD1 – it’s like a never ending merry-go-round that you just can’t get off…. and there is nothing ‘merry’ about it ๐Ÿ™ hang in there, lady, and take care of yourself today!

@lilsweetie:  welcome, and sorry of course. it is SO hard when it takes longer than expected – at least you’ve found a good place for support ๐Ÿ™‚

as for me – no news of course, CD10 or something and have never O’ed before CD16, so just at twiddling thumbs stage. desperately hoping for an early O this cycle – come on!!!

@lilsweetie:  Welcome! Sorry you have to be here, but nothing can change where we are in our TTC efforts. This is a great place to come to share, vent, laugh, and cry!

@hamikay:  Thank you! We are under contract. They came out yesterday to do the home inspection, and of course I haven’t heard anything yet so I’m soooo nervous! Ahhh…Why did I decide to sell a house during the tww!!??! : )

@hamikay:  I’m glad you feel like the Naturo is making a difference, everything crossed that your next BFP is very sticky

@Yellow.Clover: Happy to hear that your DH’s SA came back with good results

@lilsweetie: Welcome, sorry you have to join the “club”

AFM lots to share….I have been reading along but don’t post much at work. I had my appointment with my PC/GYN on the 22nd and she was very receptive to the fact that we are on cycle 10 with no success so far. She gave me a req for bloodwork and a pelvic ultrasound and DH a req. for an SA (he was thrilled :S). She was also kind enough to send it a referal to one of the fertility clinics nearby but warned us that it is usually a 6-8 week wait for the initial consult.

I was working away yesterday and my phone rang…. it was the clinic wanting to know if we could come in for our 4 hour (!) consult on the 29th…of October :O. Unfortunatly my DH has to work and we can’t switch things around so we will have to wait, plus I am waiting to test on 10/30 so I am hoping we won’t need the appointment anyway. Weirdly I am actually slightly relieved about not taking the appointment on Monday because I was feeling very overwhelmed about the whole process happening so quickly and DH is not 100% happy with diving right into all this. He wants to try a little longer on our own.

Do you ladies think I should get all the testing done that my PC/GYN gave us requisitions for or should I wait and see what this specific clinic wants?

@Yellow.Clover:  Good luck with the sale of the house!  I’m sure the inspection will turn out great!

I am having a hard day today.  Yesterday I had my CD3 blood work done.  I hate getting blook work and the guy that did it was horrible.  I have a huge bruise and my arm hurt all day yesterday. I have been having a horrible couple days at work where nothing seems to be going right.  It doesn’t help that I sarted Femara yesterday and feel like I can’t control my emotions.  I am having just a really down couple of days and can’t seem to shake it off.

@STB Ms.Win:  I would def get the testing done thru your GYN and go from there. I’m sure the fertility will do them as well, but probably at double the costs. Good luck!

@funnybunny:  Awww, girl, I’m sorry. I was having one of those days yesterday. It was bad! I just tried to take my mind off of everything and focus on things that made me happy. It will pass soon! HUGS.

@funnybunny:  totally understand about the blood work. I am actually dreading getting mine done for this exact reason. Last time I had to argue with the nurse to let me lay down while she did it and she wouldn’t let me….. big surprise I ended up slumped over when I fainted Yell

@Yellow.Clover: I’m not worried about the cost really, I am in Canada and most it will be covered by either my provincial health care or my companies insurance. I was just thinking it is probably better to see what test the fertility specialist wants me to have so I don’t have to repeat bloodwork or ultrasounds….

Sorry I’ve been MIA. Will catch up soon… Just need a quick place to vent.

Today, we had a patient who was 8 years-old, and had not owned a toothbrush in over a month because mother (who is a drug user she admitted today) “could not afford one” for her or her four other children (yes, four OTHER children). #facepalm.

Yet, I can’t seem to get pregnant. Arrrrrggggh. That one got to me.

The little girl said, “I just wish I had a toothbrush” as she was leaving. You can get FOUR for a dollar at the dollar store in town.

End rant. Hope everyone has fun weekend plans! U/S next week to check my follies, whoooop whoooop!

@funnybunny:  Sending big, fat hugs your way =( I’m sorry about the bloodwork! I’ve regularly donated blood since age 16, which kind numbed me to the whole idea, something to think about if you will need more bloodwork!

@STB Ms.Win:  Wow, it sounds like you are very fortunate to have such a proactive gyn! That’s incredible. I had all the same labs drawn before I saw my RE, but he still redrew them. So I wouldn’t worry too much about getting stuff the fertility clinic would get, because they are probably just going to reorder them anyway. What are the labs she ordered? Did she tell you to get them on a specific cycle day?

@Yellow.Clover:  Yay for this whole house selling thing, that is incredible!! Do you guys already have another house that you will move into?

@hamikay:  Fingers cross for you! I’ve missed you on the boards. How is your break? Enjoying it? How are you liking the vitex? I’ve heard that about the hot/cold foods things too, from my acupuncturist and from that Zoll center thing online!!

Will respond to everyone else later… Am leaving work soon!

Clomid question:  When charting bees have taken clomid, has it moved up when you get crosshairs? Typically I O later in my cycle if at all, like CD17-20, but if I took Clomid CD1-5, would I O earlier or my normal time?

@ChuckNorris:  Thanks! No, we will be moving in with my parents until January when we will buy again.

To answer your question, if you took the Clomid CD 1-5 I would say you should O around CD 15 could be a few days before or after. I think the general rule is you should O 10 days after taking the last pill. I took Clomid CD 5-9 and O’d CD 20, 21 and this last freak fo a cycle 44.

@MrsFarmer:  Thank you for inviting me to come hang out with you all over on the 1+ thread.  I lurk on that thread so I can keep up with all of you and saw your sweet message.  It made my day that you included me!  I had a hard CD 1 and 2, but feel better today.  I am planning on opening that bottle of wine tonight!  Great news re: the progesterone!

@hamikay:  Haha!  You’re right!  It is NOT very merry.  Even when I try not to get my hopes up, in the back of my mind, my hopes do get up because I’m always a little crushed on CD 1.  Combine that with normal AF emotions and I’m a mess.  I’m so interested in what you’ve been doing with your natro and wish I could find someone to see here.  I will add that to my long list of things to try…

@lilsweetie:  Welcome!  I’m sorry you have to be here, but this is a great group and makes being a longer TTCer almost fun (?)  Seriously, it is great getting to know a smaller group better who is going through the same thing.  Hopefully you won’t have to stay long!  Also–yay for Seattle!  I’m from Seattle and always love it when I see Seattle bees!  I may need to have you visit my favorite coffee shops so I can live vicariously through you ๐Ÿ™‚

@ChuckNorris:  I am VERY fortunate and I remind myself not to loose sight of that since I have seen many others on the TTC boards with uncooperative doctors or have to wait a long time for a referal. She is actually my family doctor who is also an OBGYN which is super convenient. She asked me to do the bloodwork on CD3 (I am 10DPO today) and is testing a whole list of stuff (I don’t have it with me but there are a lot of check marks on the sheet!). I am still waiting for the clinic to call me back to re-schedule the referal so I will ask them what they would like me to do.

What

@hamikay: Thanks for sharing your experience with your naturo!  I’m glad you’ve had success with it!  It sounds like a lot of your symptoms (cold feet, etc.) and recommendations (oats, warm food) are similar to what this book is recommending for me too.

View original reply
@ChuckNorris:  Totally agree with your rant…sometimes it makes me so sad that so many bad parents can have kids when I know that I would be an awesome mom and I can’t have kids easily! Not fair!

@STB Ms.Win:  I hope they let you lay down next time you have your blood drawn!  My DH is like you…he has almost passed out with blood draws before.  Laying down sounds like a great idea.

Sorry I don’t have time to reply to everyone today.  I just wanted to share that I just got home (well, 2 hours ago but those were couch+tv hours) after my sonohysterogram (somewhat similar to a HSG but with water instead of dye).  It was pretty painful for me — they had some trouble threading the catheter and then it was painful with the saline injection.  I actually got all sweaty and thought I was going to vomit or pass out, which *never* happens to me.  Anyway, they aren’t 100% sure but it looks like I might have a small uterine septum, so that’s a bummer because we thought we were pure male factor issues.  I’m waiting to talk to my REI (it was just the REI fellow who performed my SHG) but the choices seem to be to either do a hysteroscopy and resect the septum before my IVF or to just try without doing anything about it.  Anyone here have uterine septum issues?
