Haha! Do I have a story for you!

When I was growing up, I assumed I would go to college (I did), meet a guy and fall in love (I did), and get married a year or two after graduation at age 23 or 24 (I did NOT!) Smile

My college boyfriend and I broke up less than a year after we graduated, and that turned out to be a VERY GOOD thing.  He was a nice young man, but he absolutely was not the one for me. Likewise, I was not the woman for him.

I spent the next many years discovering more about and growing significantly in my relationship and walk with God and becoming  the person God intended me to become before I ever met my future husband.

I had NO earthly idea that God’s timing and mine would be SO dramatically different, but I learned so much through all of the experiences I had in my life as I focused on my relationship with God, the ongoing development of my career, and my amazing friendships.

I then met and became engaged to a fantastic, wonderful (can’t say enough great things about him or his fabulous family) guy when I was 29, and we planned our wedding for the summer that I turned 30.  Unfortunately, as we moved forward with our wedding-planning process, I eventually realized that, as wonderful a person as my former Fiance was and is, he also was NOT God’s choice of a husband for me.

Through many, many tears, I did one of the two hardest things I have ever done in my life, and I ended that relationship and canceled that wedding.

I had no idea that it would take an additional  15.5 years before God would bring my DH into my life.  Once again, this certainly was not  MY choice of timing; however, it was indeed  God’s perfect  timing, and, at the age of 47, I walked down the ailse and married my DH! Laughing

He was worth the wait!

When I was younger I thought I’d get married at around 30. But I’ll be 24 (two months shy of 25) when I get married.

Wanted 24-27, got 26.  It works for me.  I can’t imagine a better time to get married then where I am in life right now.

I hoped to start having kids by 24-25 (wanted 3-4) so I guess 22-23.  Got married at 31 – not what I “planned” when younger but life works out in its own way.  :o)

Wanted: 23

Actual: 25 (Engaged at 24; my birthday is next week and we’re getting married this year.)

I was a junior bridesmaid in my cousin’s wedding when I was 10. She was 23 at the time of her wedding, so I naturally thought that was the most perfect age to get married. You’re an adult but not too old yet 😉

Wanted: I always thought I would get married at 23 or 24, since that’s the age most poeple here get married.

Got: 20! Haha. Surprised, but really happy. I wouldn’t have it any other way. :]

I wanted to be married by 22, or 23. I’ll be 23, so right on time! I want to have my first child by 27 for sure!

In highschool, before I met my Fiance, I thought the ideal age was 25 or 26. Now I’m getting married at 23 and I’m really happy about it and I feel totally ready. My ideal age for TTC is 25 or 26 so it’s funny how that worked out 😉
