(Closed) The Bay gift registry–anyone else have issues?

@SeaSalt:  I didn’t have any issues. Then again, I registered for everything off the website. I hate shopping and I do as much online as I can. Now all I need to do is figure out how to delete the damn thing as I am not having a big wedding anymore, lol.

@SeaSalt:  I set ours up online so I didn’t have any hassle that way.  We did go get a scanner on Saturday and scanned a few things but again, no problems.  They also have an app for your smart phone that a friend of mine told me about that you can use to scan stuff to your registry.  I’ve been adding and editing our registry online.  So far no problems – but our wedding is still a long ways away and no one has bought anything yet (onviously). 

(we opted to register early, thinking people might use it for Christmas as well…)

@MrsPanda99:  I discovered that deleting it is almost impossible.  I set mine up one day a LONG time ago out of curiosity to see what they had listed as registry items as setting up the registry is the only way to see those items online.  Then I discover that I can’t delete it and I have a wedding registry set up and we’re not engaged (facepalm).  I put a password on it and changed the wedding date and hoped no one would stumble on it.

@MsGinkgo:  I kind of figured that. I hate when companies do that. I sincerely hope that no one finds it because I am not asking for presents when no one is even invited. Ugh.

@MrsPanda99:  I think you can probably email the registry customer service people and have them take it down – or just delete everything off the registry.

i had issues. They keep calling me “are you aware of our registry detail where you get 10% off all items after your wedding”. 

“yes, i signed the paper work, i am AWARE leave me alone”

There is also some items which were ordered in JULY and have still not arrived.

@MsGinkgo:  Honestly I was thinking I’d just change the names. It seems easier than dealing with some annoying CSR 😛 John and Linda Smith have registered instead of Mr and Mrs Long Russian Name.

@SeaSalt:  Totally understand that frustration.  I did have issues with app which is why I got the scanner but then realized I’d been scanning the wrong barcode.

I’ll be pretty po’d if I run into issues like yours picking things up.  We have our pickup store as the one about 5 minutes away but it will still be super annoying to go and find out not all of them item is there!

@SeaSalt:  some people really have no common sense at all.

Now that I think about it, while I was waiting to ask for a scanner last weekend, the lady was helping another couple, asked me what i wanted, I told her – fully expecting her to keep helping the couple and help me after.  NOPE she gets up, leaves them, then wanders off somewhere to get me a scanner, then asks for my personal info in front of the other couple…I looked at them and sincerely appologized, I had no idea she would do that!!

@SeaSalt:  YES!!  I also went into a location to set everything up and their scan guns were a nightmare.  I had the same problem with almost everything I scanned not showing up so I gave up and did the rest online.  I hated it and am glad that only a few people bought off the registry.

@MsGinkgo:  You could just buy the items you want and get a discount. Take advantage of your fake registry. At least where I live you save like 10% or something on the items you buy off your own registry. 

I registered at The Bay and had no problems.
