Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a recent fascination with growing facial hair among men? My SO is one of “those guys,” growing out his beard to see how long it will get without any sort of grooming, comparing with his friends, and on the rare occasion he has to shave it for a wedding or something, doing it in stages (goatee, mutton chops, fu man chu, etc.) and documenting the whole process.
He can most definitely do with his body whatever he wants. This is just a fun question.
Are there any ladies out there who *secretly* hate it? Or are you vocal about your disdain for his facial hair? Or did he grow it out and it looks awesome? I want to know!!!

November was “Grow a beard to support prostate cancer awareness” month…I think.

@ms_margarita: Fiance has had a beard for the last 4 years or so.
I love beards. I blame my dad- he’s had a beard since he was a teenager.
Fiance looks great with a beard. So much manlier and rugged- my kinda man! He’s gotta keep it trimmed though. If it gets too long, it definitely doesn’t look good.

@peachacid: Just a mustache for Movember not a full on beard.
My husband has a beard. I like how it looks but hate how it feels. But I would never tell him to shave it or alter his appearance in anyway because I would expect him to never do that to me either.

Darling Husband has a very full, long beard.. and I totally love it. I like him either way, but he just has good bone structure for facial hair and it is totally sexy on him

@peachacid: What a great cause. I did not know that was going on. My SO grew it out just because of “No Shave November..which turned into No Shave December..and now no shave indefinitely…lol.” Also to compete with his friends as to who had the “manliest” beard.

@ms_margarita: Well my husband has one, while I think he is in general more attractive without it, I DO really like it.
Also…I OFTEN say, “Scratchy beard!” which is a DIRECT quote from the X-Files that I say spontaneously without even thinking about the X-Files. So yeah I love it.
Cause I am a big huge dork.
I kinda figured dork came from dick, etymologically, and I was right. I just called myself a dick.

@peachacid: Haha!!! (about the dork comment). Too funny!

Nope. My husband wants facial hair, but he can’t due to his job.

My SO grew a beard for Movember and he liked it so much that apparently it’ll be staying for awhile. I’m usually a facial hair fan, but it’s taken some getting used to.
I like it okay- but I like him clean shaven too. Although he’s going to have to keep it neat (i got him a beard trimmer for Christmas lol)

@plum_pudding: I agree completely. If the beard is going to stay, it has to be neat. Nice move on getting the beard trimmer! 🙂

Nope, he’s not had one as long as I’ve known him. In fact, he is quite meticulous about staying clean shaven. For which I am so very thankful!

Every month is No-Shave November for my Fiance, haha. I have never seen him without a beard (except in childhood pictures). I love it when it’s neat and trimmed, but I’m not its biggest fan when it’s all wild and scraggly, which unfortunately is its usual state. Lol.

I have no problems vocalizing how I feel about beards… I hate, hate, hate them! I think the latest trend (past few years) of men with beards looks ridiculous and I don’t find them attractive AT ALL.
Needless to say my husband does not have a beard and thankfully for me, doesn’t want one.

Hahaha, Darling Husband doesn’t grow hair on most of his beard area!
He once decided to grow a goatee, and it took him 4 months.
So he’s not into that (thank GOD–I HATE beards!)
