I’ve actually decided not to go with the art deco milgrain setting because I’m not working with David Klass, and he’s the only one I’d trust with a ring of such detail.

I will be mailing my diamond out today! But I’m still on the fence with these two designs. I just cannot make up my mind! CAD’S will be made of both, then I’ll have to pick one..the one thing I know for sure is that both styles will have a very slight split shank like in the picture of the top left double halo. The split will merge into a single shank and only be visible from the side

Peaceoutboyscout:  I was wondering about the pink stones from JTV! I was looking for a pear but they are sold out 🙁 Might go with the cushion after seeing a real picture of it

I just posted on a separate thread… Mark Morrell is out for a while and my project is now dead in the water or on hold indefinitely until I hear something more.  Ugh.  So bummed.

Hello Bees, so I have two current ring projects happening at the moment. My husband bought me a 2.5 carat classic moissanite for Valentine’s Day. Omg I’m in love with moissanite! I had never seen one as they are not very common in Australia. It out sparkles my diamonds! It’s a round brilliant cut and it’s with my amazing jeweller being set into an 18k yellow gold 6 claw setting. The band is recycled from my previous engagement ring as it was already mine before said new diamond was set. So I don’t feel weird re using it lol. It will be ready tomorrow morning for me to pick up and I just cannot wait!!! And my jeweller also is redesigning my 2 carat light fancy yellow diamond solitaire into a halo with pave diamonds which should be ready in about 3 to 4 weeks. Hopefully my baby doesn’t decide she wants to be born when it’s ready haha. I will post pictures as soon as they are finished. I’m really loving all these beautiful pieces of jewellery that are being constructed on this thread!!! Im in awe of their beauty!

MrsSparkleBee13:  omigosh, the oval in a cushion with slight split shank is STUNNING!!! I change my vote in your previous double halo thread lol! I know how hard it is to pick one design though…take your time and if possible buy some cheapies to try?

I tried on a Oval sapphire in a cushion halo at my jewelers before designing my ring back in October and I’m honestly still in love with it. It felt big and cluncky at the time but now I recgonize how luscious it is. I was actually thinking about it the other day. I would love to design a similar one with a plain shank yellow gold with a dark Ruby (my birthstone) or emerald (hubby’s birthstone) halo.

Hey bees, I posted this on my thread as well but I wanted to post it here too because I have to submit the changes by tomorrow and want your opinions!

I received my first set of drawings for the chunky cushion halo, and so far so good. Keep in mind that there will be claw prongs holding the center stone, and that the diamond will be set a little higher than shown here. Also, there will be very little metal showing once the diamonds are set. The halo will measure 2.5mm. At the widest point the split shank measures 3.2mm then tapers to 2mm at the bottom. Do you guys see anything that needs changed??
