I posted a little while back about my Amora moissy and how I was sadly disappointed. It turns out I’m pretty sensitive to color. Below is a mix of pictures in different lighting and angles (keep in mind the moissy is not set but rather just sitting in the setting). For the most part, the pictures don’t capture the yellow I was seeing. It is more faint than I saw IRL, and some of you might not see the tint at all. The last two pics, however, have a sickly looking greenish-yellow.
It’s a 6mmx6mm (1.1 ct) amora moissy from moissyco. I did end up returning it.

Hmm, I definitely see the yellow-green in the first pic, but not in the others. Shame you had to return it, it’s a beautiful setting and deserves a nice stone!

The setting is gorgeous! I’m sorry about the moissy though, I thought Amora was treated?

i definitely can see the color in all the photos. I also have an mira moissy but mine is a round cut & they say that the princess and cushion show more color than the round (not sure why), because my mira doesnt show any color like that, it just has a slight bluish tinge sometimes but i kinda like that. Sorry you had to deal with that:( & the setting is beautiful!

I do see some yellow in a couple of the pics and I am not color sensitive. I almost got a cushion cut Amora, but I ended up buying a round instead. I’m glad I did. Not that there is anything wrong with warmer stones. I like warm, but not too warm.

I can see it in the 5th and last two pictures. It almost looks like a yellower green amethyst.

Beautiful ring!!! And wow I do see the color, particularly next to the diamonds in your mount. That’s the first time I’ve really seen the green, usually I just see yellow. What stone are you considering now?
I don’t think you’re that sensitive… I see it very clearly!

wow, that is quite yellow. It’s a beautiful ring, but that would be too yellow for me, so I don’t blame you for returning it. What are you going to do now?

I definitely can see the color, too. Your setting is gorgeous, by the way!

You’re not too sensitive – I can definitely see it as well. I’m glad you returned it so you can get something you’re completely happy with 🙂

Thats so terrible. its such a pretty ring too! I could see the slight tint, but Im glad you returned it and hope you got something much better!

I can def see what you are seeing and don’t blame you for wanting to return it.

You all make me feel more confident in my decision! Thank you!!!
@OrchidsandCandles: Yes, the amora is treated. Unfortunately, a cushion is “J” in color and this stone faced up only slightly whiter.
@BrittMike12: @MrsBlueSeptember: I know the rounds are whiter, but I was so determined to get a cushion cut for this setting. I do think the round moissys are beautiful!
@morganjenkstamwood: I realized I was looking for an affordable, ethical stone with a colorless grading, so I went with an Asha and was very pleased. It was hard for me to get past that, “It’s a CZ” stereotype, but the stone is gorgeous! I will probably upgrade in a few years, but for now, it’s exactly what I want.
