@MrsDrRose612: I keep thinking about doing it, but it’s starting to get REALLY cold here (and gets dark really early) so I’m not sure about running outside. Cold air really hurts my lungs when I try to work out in it.

But something like a support group for it may be just the kick in the pants I need.

I started C25K a few weeks ago, will be doing W3D3 tomorrow. I need a buddy!! I don’t have a smart phone, so I’ve just been writing down the day’s workout and switching the treadmill as needed.

I’m not in the Beegest Loser, but I am planning on restarting the C25K soon! I started awhile back but my school schedule got too hectic and I failed to keep it up.  Finals are here though so it should be much easier!

Oh and there is no way I woud be doing it outside right now, I can’t stand the cold.  Luckily we have a treadmill in the basement, so I’ll be going that route.

@Natalieh86: I’m not doing BEEgest loser either, I didn’t see the post until after it’d begun! We should be workout buddies. We both have May weddings and similar deadlines.

I’ve been wanting to start up C25K! I did the first week a couple of months ago then kinda… stopped lol. But I really need something to put inbetween my elliptical workouts because they’re starting to get repetitive. Sign me up!

Now, to find this Android app…

@Faellie: Sounds good I’ll just be a little behind you!  I am also planning on starting the Buff Brides workout.  It’s a 24 week program and 3 days a week of strength training exercises. .You are supposed to get a certain amount of cardio in each week too so I thought the C25k would be a good combination!

I just want to give you ladies some encouragment! I finished c25k about 6 weeks ago.  Some weeks are harder than others, but repeat as necessary, and you’ll be fine.  And always have a positive attitude.  If you start running thinking you can’t do 20 minutes, then you won’t! I’m still running 3 miles consistently, in about 32-35 minutes.  I’m thinking about training for a half marathon!

@Boston Bee: That’s awesome!  I hope I can keep up with it.  One question though, how fast did you run when you first started? Did you increase the speed as you went along or just the time/distance?

@MrsDrRose612: I know i’m a little ahead of you ladies, (I did the W3D2 last night), but I am absolutely terrified of the 10 and 20 minute runs. I was homeschooled, never took PE, so I’ve honestly never run for 20 minutes IN MY LIFE!

 

I hope I can do it! The 3 minute runs were an accomplishment for me. (I’ve got about 20 lbs I’d like to lose.. i’m a size 12 right now. I have my wedding dress, but it can easily be taken in.)

@Natalieh86: I run outside, so I don’t know exactly how fast I’m running.  For longer runs, I would do the first day pretty slow just to make sure I could do it, then I would try to do run a little faster each time (I would add a few extra blocks each time).  I did run on a treadmill at my SO’s house a few times, and I felt that 5-5.5 was a good pace at the time. I probably run a little faster now.  I think when you’re first starting you shouldn’t worry about how fast you’re going, just try to finish.  The speed will come as your endurance builds up.

@MrsDrRose612: Sunday sounds like a great start day! That’s my fave gym day because virtually nobody’s there so I’ll feel like less of an idiot trying to figure out the treadmill – lol!
