Monday: 171

Today (Friday): 169

  • What was good/bad/ugly about this past week?

I was doing sooooo well with my diet and exercise! I walked every day Mon-Thurs, and stuck to my eating plan (little to no processed carbs, lots of fruits and veggies and high protein). Then, today, I was taking a trip with my parents who are visiting town, and we went out to eat. And I totally over-indulged since there weren’t any good diet-friendly options. And then I continued to throw my new habits out the window when we stopped for ice cream after a long hot afternoon! Whoops! I can’t wait till the company leaves – it’ll be sooooo much easier to stick to my new habits!!

  • What are your goals for the coming week, have they changed?

My goal is to not let today’s setback (and tomorrow’s likely ugly scale results) derail me. I’ve just got to pick myself back up again and keep on going!

@LaCroix:  Thanks for your lovely formatting – I borrowed it! Also, thanks for sharing your results with the high-protein meal replacement diet. I’m having some trouble with that this week, too. I’ll have to try milk of magnesia if I keep having trouble! Or I think there are some  low-calorie low-carb high-fiber products that you can dissolve into drinks or stir into other foods that might help out, too.

@whydoesithurt:  I don’t think using meal replacements is the best way….I use a protein shake in the morning for easiness….but eating your calories is definitely better for you…

you can add flax seed (completely natural) to anything and it will help with the fiber issue….also, when I got my tooth pulled I made a great chicken soup (pureed) so you got your healthy fiber and protein in a liquid form….you could try that instead of shakes and you won’t have the fiber issue

Starting Weight: 150.0

Weight today: 148.8

Loss: -1.2

 

So, I started late, and thought it would be wrong to use my other weight (which is probably when everyone else weighed in.) I’ll play catchup. 

Also, I promise to weigh in correctly this next week! I am on a radically different time zone so I didn’t see I was actually let into the game until today. Sorry again!

@LaCroix:  Add me to the list of flax cheerleaders, lol.  I usually make a smoothie with a scoop of protein powder and a TBSP of flax and most days I feel like things are moving along just fine, lol.
