I never tried on rings after, but on the one day I went to a jewelery store with Darling Husband to look around, and point out a few things that I liked/didn’t like (he really wanted to pick himself, but didn’t want to be completely clueless) I tried on some larger rings.

It wasn’t that I didn’t like them, I just didn’t see it as being a good use of money to go bigger than the .75 that I ended up with.

I did try on a friend e-ring that I have enviously look at similar ones on WB. I am happy to say, although gorgeous, it’s not me.

I’ve never tried on a larger ring (except for the 9ct ring) but I did (secretly) try on a different style.  I loved my ring, then kept seeing all these gorgeous halos on the bee and wondered if maybe I should have told him I liked halos too.  I tried some on while shopping with a friend one day and was VERY relieved to find that I didnt like it as much on my own hand as on others.

@pinkshoes: When my engagement ring was being cleaned before the wedding, I tried on a 9 carat ring too! I asked if I could borrow it while I was waiting for mine to be done… 🙂 He said, sure, put it on the credit card and we can refund it when you return it…like my CC has a $80,000 limit! Haha!

not after the fact, but i had actually went trying on rings with my BFF prior to the proposal, and my Fiance went shopping for the ring with my BFF.  The ring I tried on and liked had 2 sizes and he picked the bigger one even though it was a tad above our budget and I LOVE it so much more than the smaller one I had tried on.  So good job Fiance and BFF!  But while I was there, I also tried on some totally extravagant (in relation to our budget) rings and yea, gigantic rings looked funny on me! lol

I’m just not a diamond girl, and most jewelry stores don’t carry the kind of gems I’m after, so I am lucky in that I don’t really get the urge to seek out different rings.

Not that I’d pass up the opportunity to try on a 9 carat diamond!

I have not tried on another ring, but boy have I looked!  And only because of WB.  I have a .75ct center stone with side accents totalling 1ct.  I often wonder if I should have picked something with at least a 1ct. center stone.  I’ve looked at erings at every store I’ve set foot in that sells erings since I first received the ering. I have yet to find one where I like the design half as much as I like the design of my ering.  I guess I’m weird.  I keep focusing on the design of the ering and not the size of the diamond.

we were at our jeweller on sunday (checking out the ring mold) and there was 3 couples in there looking at rings and i quitely laughed at the one girl who started at 0.7ct and by the time we left she was looking at 1.5ct and her guy was getting more and more quite

followed by another lady that had two $20K rings on her finger and comparing….. i  said to hubby arent you glad i didnt torture you that much when we got engaged – he said no, you are torturing me now that we are married 🙂

@bebefly: But it’s so big it looks fake. Wouldn’t that suck, you spend all that money and everyone around you thinks you got it on HSN for $50.
