I’m having a vegan wedding and it will also be family style buffet. I’m trying to work out the amount of serving plates i’ll need to rent so I decided to start hashing out.
What are your thoughts? Is this enough food for 12 people per table?
I would also love your suggestions 🙂
Family Buffet Style
Strozzapreti with Sunflower Basil Pesto and Wild Mushrooms
Butternut Squash Ravioli in tomato sauce
Glazed Field Roast
Roasted Seasonal Vegetables
Roasted Tomato and Arugula Caeser Salad

@bretonvirgniia: Sounds yummy! I don’t know if I would even notice the lack of animal products. On a side note what is glazed field roast (roast means meat to me)?

it’s a vegan roast. it’s really yummy!

That all sounds awesome. Are they making the pesto without cheese for you? I assume you specified for that!
Are you going to have any appetizers?

Yes we’re going to have appies during cocktail hour. Just little comfort foods like mini mac n cheese, sandwiches, fried pickles, mini burger sliders, fries with chiptole mayo dip in mini chinese take out boxes.

I probably wouldn’t eat the roast, but I would definitely eat everything else. 😀

Oooh girl! I love it! I am a vegan bride and I can’t wait to see what our chef comes up with. Those all sound like fantastic plates! What are you doing for the mac and cheese? FH is dying for some yummy mac n cheese- the last vegan one we tried was awful!

I found a great mac n cheese recipe on Alicia Silverstones website
I also make a really good cashew mac n cheese from the cook book “the vegan diner”.
I think i’ll get the catering company to put them in small ramikins and bake them with bread crumbs and daiya cheddar cheese. 🙂

Yah I think i’ll only do one roast per table and whoever is brave enough to try it will eat it. It’s actually so well received by our omnivore friends and everyone loves it 🙂

I am not a big meat eater so all this sounds delicious to me! Squash ravioli is one of my favorite dishes!

we only have one Girlfriend guest and the caterer is going to make her something special 🙂

That all sounds awesome! I’m vegetarian, so not totally vegan, but most of the weddings that I have been to have had less than wonderful vegetarian options.. It is always a little disappointing to see all of the meat-eaters get a FABULOUS meal, and I’m stuck with something crappy! Sounds like your guests will more than enjoy their meal!
