So, I have been looking at the Berkeley Church in Toronto as a venue, and wanted to know if anyone has had their wedding or will be having their wedding here, and what is the total cost of the venue?
They had sent us a package and quoted us $100 per person (before taxes and gratuities) for approximately 120 people and this isn’t even including the alcohol, which we would have to bring in ourselves.
This seems really steep, especially since this is not including the rental fee of the church itself.
Has anyone had any experience with the Berkeley Church, and if so, would you be able to give me an idea of a breakdown of what you ended up paying for this venue?
Thanks in advance!

@kmjj: I am also looking at the Berkeley Church as a venue for my upcoming wedding but not loving the price I was quoted. Have you looked at any other venues similar to the Berkeley? I can’t find any that I like as much and trust me, I’ve looked lol

hey there. were getting married at the berkeley church in october. our quote for 120 people with appetizers, 2 main options, dessert = 19k (tax and gratuity included). we booked them last August so dont know if their rates have increased.
By The Way were also official berkeley church preferred vendors (photographers) if you havnt booked yet. http://www.redearthtoronto.ca
The berkeley is amazing, their food was what sold it for us (we became vendors after booking) and the uniqueness of the space. our parents didnt like it very much but it suits us. 🙂

@kmjj: We looked at the field house at Berkeley, and found the same thing. I also disliked that you had to pay for each of the staff members, which also isn’t included in the price of the venue. Everytime we spoke to him he gave us a different price (even within the same conversation), so we had him send us an excel spreadsheet that you could type in the hours you needed the services, as well as the number attending, to help us see how the cost would change. We decided to go elsewhere. It really was beautiful (both the church and the field house), and in a great location (but beware, there is a condo going up directly behind, and they continue to work on Saturdays. I walked by last Saturday and it was nosy with hammering, beeping from trucks, and general construction noise).
