Nice…looks like your day was a success!

I didn’t wake up early to do any black friday shopping, but did go to the stores. I got a set MAC lipglosses, a cute sweater, and some skinny jeans.

I also  just came back from DSW and got some pretty awesome boots in the clearance section for $60. I’m excited!

That’s awesome!!! We had some fake Black Friday sales up here in Canada (trying to stop us from hopping the border I guess!). I got a great deal on the KitchenAid Architect Series (same as the big professional 600 series, just a different paint finish) that I’ve been lusting after for a couple years now. It’s regular price $700, but at Sears all the KitchenAid appliances were 30% off, so it was down to $480, and then I got a registry completion discount of another 10% on top of it, so after taxes (damn 13% taxes!!!) it ended up being $498. BUT there’s also a $50 mail in rebate the girl in the registy department gave me, so that brings it down to $448. Not bad! I’m really excited!

Ooh and I also got my mom a Roomba for half price at Canadian Tire, and took advantage of the $20 jeans sale at Old Navy 🙂

@xshellx2003: Ya our taxes here are high, but we also have a lot of perks here (healthcare being the major one). There are provinces with higher taxes, but we’re still at the higher end for sure. It used to be split between two different taxes and depending on what you bought it was subject to either one or both (or none in some cases), but they harmonized it in the summer and it’s been a world of 13% hurt ever since. Hence, the hopping the border to Buffalo to do some shopping a lot of the time and *maybe* under estimating just how much you declare on your way back…

@Catherine: Ummm confession time: Before VS came to Canada, I used to buy all my bras in Buffalo, and wear them all (and make whoever was with me put one on too), so I’d be crossing the border with HUGE mega fake boobs 3 bras deep in push up paddng, LOL! Also, I once bribed a border guard with M&Ms. He asked what I bought, I told him supplies for our Halloween party like M&Ms, cups, decorations, etc etc and he was like “M&M’s? I like M&Ms!” so I offered him a package and he slid half my receipts back to me, LOL! I think it was a REALLY slow night and he just wanted to have some fun. Poor guy was bored to death I think 😉

I just bought my dad a watch. Going at 6:30 at night was much better than the morning! I had a coupon too! Yay Kohls!
