Like you said some people don’t like engraved favors. If it has anyone’s initials, date of anything or a slogan its trash to me.
Favorite favor – Popcorn for the ride home.

I know I won’t do it any justice by describing it, but here it goes…It was a piece of recycled glass that was stamped with a scene from nature, like a tree or starfish. Absolutely beautiful and I use it as a christmas tree ornament now.
Did she give a whole set to each person? Sounds really expensive
I once got a nice bottle of olive oil. I think that’s the only favor I’ve ever kept and put to good use! All others were typically candy or things that got thrown away before even leaving the hotel sadly enough. I usually prefer donations!
@juliasoko: No. Everyone got one of the four, but some people were changing with others,depending on what they thought they’d use the most. I wanted to find them for my daughter’s wedding, but they were over $5. each…
My sister hired a caricature artist — it was a HUGE hit and almost everyone in our family has framed their drawings 🙂
@Wannabe-diy-bride: I love that idea!! Fiance and I absolutely love getting our caricatures done, they’re so fun! I wonder if there’s any for hire in my area… 🙂 Thanks for the idea!
I’m happy to see that some people on here liked the wildflower seeds! That’s what we’re doing …makes me feel better 🙂
Um, this is kind of horrible, but… I’ve been to 7 or 8 weddings and I can’t remember really liking the favors at any of them.
I’d been planning on skipping favors at our wedding, but I think I might make some owl-shaped chocolate lollipops, ’cause I think they would be fun and not very expensive to make.
A few years ago I went to a wedding where the favors were personalized shot glasses filled with colorful jordan almonds. The shot glasses were very pretty on the tables and went over well with everyone despite being an item often associated with binge drinking. I still think of the couple whenever I make a cocktail with their glass.
At one wedding all of the girls got flip flops, which was heaven after a day of being in high heels!
Seed packets! Those were the only favors that I ever liked that weren’t edible! Frankly, most favors I’ve received were knick-knacks that were kinda useless (unless they were edible). I would just make sure if you’re spending the money on something inedible, that they are things your guests will actually use and not just throw in the junk drawer when they get home.
@teacherandgeek:
I did that for my fiancee’s 30th bday party and people seemed to like them. Some people even put it as their face book status. I find several artists online and I did some bargaining to get a better price. I wish it wasn’t so many of the same people, otherwise I would definitely do it.
Chocolate. Everything else either gets left there or thrown out.
