@teacherandageek: we’re doing this for our wedding since we used a caricature of ourselves for our S.T.D.s! Im so stoked! Everyone really loved our S.T.D.s.
I’ve never kept a favor, they’ve always been edible.
My mom will be making her “famous fudge” and we’ll be putting a couple pieces along with a piece of her famous “magic cookie bar” inside a pretty red box adorned with a pretty satin teal or black bow. Something we always do for the holidays anyways and something we know everything will love!

SO’s brother gave small lucky bamboo plants as favors. Two years later we still have one we’re barely keeping alive.

I love the idea of seedlings – i think we will do that too!
My fave was a set of kitchen measuring spoons – they were custom made, unsure from where but like the tbsp said “heap of love” and the tsp “dash of happiness” type of thing. Cute but super useful!

So, I am SO glad that I read this post. We are doing the little brownie pops that are decorated like brides and grooms, but I just read the post about mason jars. I am becoming a Mason (grooms last name) and I dont know why I didnt think to incorporate them before. Dont know what I would put in them cause my wedding is vintage romantic but thanks for the idea!

I think the most memorable favor I’ve received were chopsticks with the bride and groom’s name on them…and probably photo coasters, where I could put my own photos in afterwards.
My fiance and I will likely go the old stand-by route of candy – as I have no idea what I’ve done with the favors I just mentioned above!!

Definitely loved the photo booth idea. My fiance and I went to a wedding that had one, and loved bringing home a frame with pictures of us in them. We came home from that wedding and booked a photo booth for our own wedding! 🙂

I heard of a bride that gave scratcher lotto tickets in a pretty printed envelope as favors. She got the idea from her venue and was told “We usually have to throw out left behind favors but I’ve never seen anyone leave a lotto ticket behind”. Hmm… neat idea!!!

@juliasoko: The best wedding favor I received was a porcelain sugar bowl with tiny spoon from Italy. They came in these really nice sturdy blue boxes and were really pretty and nicely presented. Still have mine after many many many years.

@Wannabe-diy-bride: this was the BEST idea thus far!!!

One I recieved it was a light-up tambourine. A little plastic one with led lights on it. It was a HIT at the wedding and got everyone on the dance floor. Now it resides in the toy box and is the first thing picked up by every kid that comes in.
As soon as I got engaged, we ordered them for our favors!
