OMG! you are so right! cake tasting was freakin’ awesome!

We tasted everything and mixed and match to our hearts content because our designer made a care package of different flavored cakes and buttercreams and fillings.

We ultimately chose dark chocolate cake with a special ganache made for us using Yuzu (japanese citrus fruit) for 2 alternating layers. And the other 2 layers, we chose almond pound cake with latte filling.

Good luck tomorrow! And have fun!

we’re in SoCal and we went with Rossmoor Pastries. the cake is called "California Sunset"; it’s a really light lemon cake with buttercream and raspberry filling.   we mustve tasted a gajillion different combinations, but this one was so light and wasnt overpowering.

the other week, after we visited our new reception venue, we had to stop by and buy a few slices of it just b/c!! some other combos we liked: 1. chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and raspberry filling 2. white cake with buttercream and strawberry filling 3. white cake with chocolate buttercream and rasperry truffle filling 4. chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and peppermint filling; 5. marble cake with buttercream and kahlua truffle filling…

so we decided we’re getting the other 5 we liked for our Rehearsal Dinner desserts

for his surpise groom’s cake (mini yankees stadium) i’m getting him carrot cake with cream cheese frosting HAVE FUN!!

I’m so sad.  We went to meet our baker (through the venue) and there was no cake!    Still makes me want to cry to this day.

But we chose a liquor filled cake:

Dark chocolate w/ Irish Cream Filling

Champagne Cake w/ cream and fresh strawberry filling

Rum Cake w/ cream and rasberry filling. <= this is the top, so only we get it.

Hey, cyhas…that sounds delicious! Since you missed out on the tasting, make sure you give someone a few containers so you can enjoy some leftovers after the wedding.

i went to two tastings and picked bavarian cream cake with assorted berries from Final Touch, Orange County.  The creme was to die for, and at $2 per person, I thought it was a steal.  I’m NOT a cake person, but man I wish I have some right now…this coming from a girl that eat a total of about 10 slices in my 26 years of existence!  I can’t wait..i hope there’s a lot of leftover.
