I have about 19k in school loans and 8k for my car. I make my car payment twice a month so that shouldn’t take too long to pay off. My Fiance on the other hand has a lot more. He was previously married and bought a house at the wrong time. He lost the house and there went his 30K deposit. He also went to an expensive college. He has been out of college for 8 years and still has 40K in school loans. So we will have a lot to pay off. His credit is not good but mine is great.

He wants to have all his debt paid off before we have kids and he thinks he can do it in 5 years. Problem is that I don’t want to wait 5 years to have kids. He is 30 and I am 25 but I would like to have our first child within 3 years so hopefully we can pay the debt off faster.

For the wedding we are lucky to have jobs where we can work, or actually have to work mandatory overtime. We both work in law enformcement and have been working at least 4 extra shift a pay period so we should be able to have the wedding paid for by the time it is here.
