Would definitely love to join in as well. Was diagnosed with PCOS in March 2011 and am currently trying to lose weight before I get married on September 10, 2011. I’m on 2000mg of Metformin each day (1000 x2 a day). I recently bought the book “The Insulin Resistance Diet” and have been trying to follow it. I’ve done pretty well the past few days and am noticing a difference in my motivation. Now i’ve just got to get to the gym. I keep finding excuses not to go. Anyway,
Starting weight: 290
10% goal: 261
My goal by September 10th is to lose at least 25 lbs if that’s possible. Thanks!

@Mrs.Mittens: Hey I’m from the WLC thread and I want in on the new ‘competition’ lol!!
Starting weight: 173.2
Current weight: 152.8
Goal weight: 139 (this will get me out of the ‘overweight’ category)
Are we still weighing in on Fridays?
Fun Fact: I am a chiropractic student and I go to school 37 hours per week and love every grueling minute of it!
I’m getting married in 10 months and just want to look awesome. 🙂 Side note: taking engagement pictures THIS Saturday… very nervous to see how I look in pics since I’ve lost 17 lbs recently!!

by the way what is TBL and WLC?
Post # 139
@Keltaena: Absolutely! I think I am going to post pics of my outfits tonight and take votes, if I have time! I should have a few ‘sneak peeks’ by Monday!! Thank you!!!
@Mrs Scott to be:
I think WLC was weight loss challenge and TBL was the biggest loser. Right everyone?

@kristina12: You are correct!

@mattsgirl813: Same here. Bagel for breakfast and a rice bowl with some really fatty sauce on it for lunch. I think I only have like 150 left for the day! So much for not eating my exercise calories!

@Mrs.Mittens: What are you going to do for all the ladies that don’t weigh in on Friday mornings?
I’ve had about 900 calories so far today, Special K bar, light and fit yogurt, smart ones spaghetti & a small bag of sun chips. I will probably have a 100 calorie popcorn this afternoon and string bean chicken breast with steamed rice from Panda Express tonight. Then tonight exercise on the elliptical machine I bought off of craigslist at home.
Just went to Costco and got some glucosamine to take for my knee that is killing me!!!! I don’t want to go to the doctor and have her tell me not to exercise, so I am trying the glucosamine first. It worked for me a few years ago when I was doing Taebo and the impact was killing my knee (I spiral fractured my leg at me knee & ankle when I was younger).

@CruiseWedding2010: I was just thinking about that. I’m not sure. Have any suggestions? I don’t want people to miss out on a weekly win but at the sametime, Friday’s are the agreed upon day, so…. Maybe I will just have to take the weight that’s closest to Friday? But then that puts those people back a week? Not sure what to do!
I need some glucosamine too! I never realized how low impact (at least for me) the elliptical is until I started doing the 30 days shred. My knees really hurt after I’m done.

@Mrs.Mittens: I would say stick to Friday since that’s what we all started with, your plan sounds good.
I got 375 tablets of glucosamine with MSM (Kirkland brand) for $16.95. It’s enough for 187 days since you take 2 a day. Impact sucks & I am getting tired of putting an ice pack on my knee every night!!! Fingers crossed it works again this time!!

Hi everyone – I’d love to join and get some motivation and encouragement. I have more than two years to lose weight (and more importantly save money) for our wedding. I’m 5’4′ and 215 pounds.
I gained weight consistently through law school due to eating poorly, going out drinking, and an undiagnosed thyroid condition. Since I’ve been out, I’ve been eating well and exercising, and finally found the right dose to keep my thyroid levels normal. But the weight hasn’t melted off like I hoped.
Soo. My life goal weight is 150. With the amount of time I have, I’m thinking I will just shoot for that! But I know I need short term, smaller goals in the meantime.
My fiance is only a few inches taller than me and weighs 155. He’s super fit and coaches sports, so he’s never really understood my struggle, although he loves me no matter what 🙂
I just want to be healthy (and weigh less than him!)

I’m not familiar with the history of this board.. it is a contest?
I am giving myself a full month of healthy eating by my standards to see if it works so I won’t be weighing in until probably the end of next week. After that, if that has worked I will continue.. if not I will move to drastic measures;)
I will begin actual weekly weigh ins at that point.

@CindyRelly: Technically… yes it’s a competition, but it really just started as the idea as a support system, but the weigh-ins and declaring of a weekly and overall winner is just a small motivational tactic. it’s all friendly in nature!
